??? WHERE ARE WE LOCATED ???

The Kakabeka Falls Flying Club is located on Airport Road in Kakabeka Falls, Ontario. The coordinates are N48 25'127" W89 36'017".From Thunder Bay travel West on Highway 11-17 to Kakabeka Falls, turn right onto Oliver Road for approx. 2 km. Turn left onto Sinclair Road, and right onto Airport Road.

We are about a 3 minute drive from the town of Kakabeka Falls, about 5 minutes from Kakabeka Falls Provincial Campground, and about 20 minutes from Thunder Bay, Ontario.

We have a membership of approximately 65 and are home to about 40 aircraft. Our members are owners of Ultralight, Homebuilt, Conventional wheel and float planes.

We are the home of a world wide Homebuilt design named the AcroLite, and several Oshkosh winners.

Our club boasts excellent facilities, a 2130 ft. regularly mowed grass strip, and a 5000 ft. water course, both running East-West.

The sea base and land base are on the same property, and less than 1000 ft. apart. Our grass strip, (runways 9 and 27), have 1000 ft. treeless approaches.

There are 16 personal hangars, and 1 large hangar owned by the Flying Club. The club rents out parking spaces in the hangar for up to 5 ultralights .

We are the home of the Lakehead Gliding Club, and their large hangar has about 8 rental spots available.

The sea base has safe dry land parking for about 12 float planes and ramps for another 5 planes.

Dry land parked planes are launched with a hydraulic lift dolly and a 4X4 truck.

We have fuel available at the grass strip and sea base. The fuel is primarily for members, but we offer it to visitors if needed. We have a designated visitor's parking area. Visitor parking and tie downs are available at no charge.

We host an annual Fly Day in mid June. This is an opportunity for aviators to get together for fun and flying.

We have fun flying events for all aircraft, such as spot landings, flour bombings, cross country rallies and aircraft displays for members and fly-in visitors.

Our club started in 1972 and has seen growth every year to it's present state.

Membership is very affordable. Associate Members (non flying) pay $25/yr. Full members pay $75/yr. Land rental for private hangars is $120/yr. Sea base spaces are $25/yr. There are no charges for tie down spaces at the grass strip.
