HISTORY

FLOODED in 1995 FLOODED formed in August of 1995, when guitarist Ned Barrett, bass player Rob Warne, and vocalist Michael Mixt finally found the type of drummer they were looking for in LaDuska York. The four quickly progressed and began playing shows throughout San Diego, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Bakersfield, CA. Many tapes were produced and distributed at their shows, including their first demo recorded at Studio West, and the Live at the Whisky tape. Though the music was fresh and inspiring, differences took over and split this original grouping in March of 1996.

LaDuska and Michael kept the candle lit and recruited Justin Self to play Bass in May of 1996. The music changed dramatically and the new conglomerate took the band to previously unobtained levels of exposure. FLOODED had spread up in to Northern California, while maintaining a consistent string of shows in the South. They recorded and released the Zumbop CD with local independent label PC Music. However, the feeling wasn't quite right and in August of 1997 another split occurred, even though tour dates had already been booked for September.

FLOODED forged on. Without enough time to recruit any other players, LaDuska York and Michael Mixt toured as a duo. They spent September and October of 1997 touring the entire West Coast from San Diego, Ca to Bellingham, WA and in November they traveled across the Southern U.S. playing in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida. Except for the occasional guest players (Jeff Magnus, Turtle, Pic Troy, Catherine Curry, etc.) FLOODED has been touring as a duo ever since.
