No Blood for Oil!

When I was in high school, there was a school-sponsored gathering concerning the war in Vietnam. I asked the invited speaker what resources did Vietnam have. He dismissed the idea that the invasion had anything to do with resources. Thirty years later (and not a word before) I heard historian Howard Zinn saying that State Department memos in the fifties stated that the primary reason for a war in Vietnam was resources: tin, rubber and oil.
