AS THE RAIN FALLS BY BROKENGOD

The way the storm clouds spilt the rain tonight,
Took me back so far through the pages of time,
When we laid out on the grass amidst the shadows,
Underneathe the trees that stood so tall.

I could hear the rain beating down on dead leaves,
And taste your flesh once again,
As the rain fell harder and harder still...
I could see you smile.

The way the rain falls in this dark night,
Reminds me of how we used to lay on the grass,
Amidst the darkest shadows,
Listening to the beating of our hearts,
Through the wet fabric of our time.
And in the shadows we kissed,
Underneathe the trees that stood so tall,
How great I felt...
I could feel my smile.

The way the rain falls down on the dead leaves,
Reminds me of that dark summer night,
When on our backs we laid on the grass,
And promised to never leave.
