Dusty welcome

Dusty's Little Acre

Hello There & Welcome to my World

My name is Dusty and I am a horse, of course! I used to live on a ranch in Northern California with my owner, Debbie, but in 1999 we moved to Medford, Oregon! I was not really surprised because I knew how much Debbie loved the mountains. We have so much fun riding together! I love going up in the mountains or down on the beach. Sometimes she loads me up in the trailer and we travel for hours to go into the wilderness area, but now we don't have to trailer as far! Debbie and I always take good care of each other. I take her safely over the trails and through the creeks, down in the valleys and up to the highest peaks. In turn Debbie always makes sure I have plenty to eat and drink, good shoes and a warm bed. We were in a big full-care stable when we first moved to Medford, BUT... in December 2000 Debbie leased a BEAUTIFUL 40-acre ranch and now we have tons of room to romp and play!! We even have our own stalls and, if we argue, Debbie can put us in seperate pastures too! I was born right in Debbie's barn on May 30, 1982. That makes me 19 years old! My mother was a palomino Quarter horse, named Nugget, and my Dad was an Appaloosa named Quinis McCue.

I love hanging out with my buddy Chester. He is a gelding and I just love him! Ohh yes...then there is Magic! She is the 'baby' Debbie got when she was 2 years old and boy was she a pain! She didn't know how to lead or pack or step over stuff in the trail or anything! I had to teach her everything! Debbie made me go first to show her how. But I guess I am a pretty good teacher because she is learning real fast! Debbie told me that she is going to start taking Magic trail riding and leave me home! I don't think I like that idea very well!

I bet you want to know about Debbie too. Well I can tell you she was really worried about making the BIG move to Medford. I know it was hard for her to leave all her friends and family AND she had to find a place for all of us too! But she figured it all out and now we are all happy campers! She has a daughter named Donna who is 23 years old and a little grandson too. They recently moved to Tennessee but Debbie still hopes to see them every couple of months. Donna never has liked me much. Guess she is still carrying a grudge because I bucked her off in the barnyard when she was 6 years old! She had another daughter named Dana, but she died from Leukemia in May 1997. I really miss her because she always went riding with us.

When Debbie isn't riding me or at work, she is usually working around the ranch. Seems like there is always something to do now that we have our own place again. In the evenings she likes to surf the net. She says it is a good way to relax! Debbie has met several people on this Internet thing. She says we could go clear across the USA and visit new friends in almost every state! But Debbie's best friend (in real life too!) is Red Ryder. She goes with us on lots of our wilderness adventures. Her and Debbie have fun no matter what they are doing!

We have traveled all over Southern Oregon and Northern California riding trails and staying at horse camps. Some of our favorite places are The Three Sisters Wilderness, Marble Mountain Wilderness, Sky Lakes Wilderness, Trinity Alps, and the Three Creeks Meadows Horse Camp, Quinn Meadows H.C., Willow Prairie H.C and Hidden Horse Camp. If you want more info on these places just email me and I will be glad to help you! If you would like to see some pics of our adventures just click on the Photo page!
