Camp Sierra and its Timeless Beauty (circa 1940's)
As Co-op Camp Sierra approaches its 60th Anniversary at Camp Sierra, we go back in time to Co-op Camp's beginnings
with Associated Foods Cooperative members
and their families. After the dissolution of AC, Co-op Camp survived through the persistence and labors of Bonnie Fish,
long time camp manager, becoming an annual gathering place for all manner of
co-operatives and family campers, as it is today.

The Camp Store
Seen here circa 1940's, the camp store is still available for ice cream, candies and
sundry goods often forgotten in the haste of vacation packing. It's porch is the
meeting ground for morning meditation or exercise, evening volleyball games and just plain
old fashioned socializing.

Activities
In addition to fabulous hiking and nearby fishing spots, watering holes and indian swimming pools,
"civilized" sporting events like volleyball, baseball and all manner of camper-inspired activities can
and do get organized. Looks like those volleyball games have been going on for quite awhile....

Just a Quiet Moment
Fresh spring water still pours from this very spout, just outside the dining hall. And children still
gather around it, lingering just before, or after meals. |
