It's that time of year again! The first round of my annual Crown of Erin fanfic awards. The rules are below. Read them first! :)
Rules
1) Stories must have been written NO EARLIER than December '98. In-progress stories that were
begun before this date but completed after the cutoff date are eligible. If the date is not
on the page or in the end notes, ask the author. Stories must also be posted on a
webpage--either theirs or a friend's. (If you win, the award graphic has to go somewhere. :)
2) Yes, you may nominate one of your own works if you wish. :)
3) Stories can be either TNG, DS9 or Voyager--these pairings only:
TNG:
-- Jean-Luc/Beverly (P/C)
-- Imzadi aka Riker/Troi (R/T)
DS9:
-- Odo/Kira (O/K)
-- Worf/Jadzia (W/D, W/J)
-- Julian/Ezri (J/E)
Voyager:
-- Janeway/Chakotay (J/C)
-- and of course, Tom and B'Elanna (P/T :)
4) Harry/Seven, Worf/Troi and Janeway/Paris nominations are also acceptable, but I have the right to refuse the nomination based on content (this mainly means no hateful type stories with animosity towards another character, please).
5a) Which brings me to my next rule - yes, NC-17 nominations are acceptable. I don't mind.
What I will not accept is slash. Sorry, slash lovers, just a personal
preference.
5b) Under-18 visitors, this DOES NOT mean that you should go out and read NC-17 fic to
nominate. You should know better--wait until you're of age! And yes everyone, I'm very aware that I don't have to say this--but this
saves me the headache of having to deal with irresponsible parents who blame the
webmaster/fanfic writer/contest head for their children getting
into stuff that's inappropriate.
6) This is the first round of nomination. Please choose your favorite 5 stories (any combination of those above pairings) and send me their titles and authors to this address. DO NOT send them to my main address - cheile@hotmail.com. If you do, your votes will not be counted. If you can't think of 10, pick at least 5. Have your picks in by November 25 (this Thanksgiving). Have fun!! :)
7) Lastly - no, you can't nominate my stuff. :) That wouldn't be fair, now would it? However, you can choose one story of mine from this page that was your favorite and with the award results, I will also put up the visitors' top 3 favorites for this year. :) For example, last year's choices were:
1st place - "Ship of Dreams" - 20 votes
2nd place - "Snowy Kessik Mornings" (Winter) - 12 votes
3rd place - "Dark Surroundings" - 9 votes
8) Lastly, another category has been added: the category for most unique story. You can only choose ONE story for your nomination. It can be TNG, DS9 or Voyager and it can include romance (again, no slash), but it has to be an exceptional story, above and beyond the usual types of storylines. The winner in this category will receive the Luna Award. Last year's winner was Janet Toner for her story "Quid Pro Quo". If you have a nomination for this category, please SEND A LINK to the story so that I may read it to see if it fits.
9) Again, please send your votes for this round in this format:
a) Title of story 1
b) author of story 1
c) rating
d) series and pairing(s)
e) url for the story so I may read it if I don't already know it
f) repeat the process til you have five stories :)
g) if applicable, Luna Award nomination
