In "Before and After", Kes began living her life backwards, starting from her deathbed. When she first woke up, she was nine, married to Tom Paris, had a daughter, Lynnis, who was married to Harry Kim, and they had a son, Andrew. Chakotay was Captain and the Doctor had hair. Suffice it to say--just plain strange.
As Kes continued her reverse journey, she got younger, and she eventually came back to the time before she and Tom were married (about six months in the future when speaking in "present-day" terms). Tom and B'Elanna were engaged, but then B'Elanna died in the Krenim attack, Kes helped Tom through his grieving (which is why they got married, etc., etc.) I'll shut up now and get to the pictures.
