Only twelve came to bid him farewell. As a reward he named a year after each one in the order that it arrived. The animal ruling the year in which you were born exercises a profound influence on your life. As the Chinese say, "This is the animal that hides in your heart." Although the Western calendar based on the movements of the sun is more consistent and easier to follow, the lunar calendar of the East is more accurate in registering the changes in seasons and the growth of all life in the universe.
