We are planning to hold a 'working weekend' to improve the headquarters building used by your sons & daughters. There are many jobs that need to be done and I would like to ask you all if you could spare some time to help. The weekend will be the 12/13th May. The jobs range from painting, carpentry, & plumbing to welding, guttering and gardening. In short something that everyone can help with. Please put the date in your diaries and plan to spare us some of your time even if it is only a couple of hours. If you want to know more please call me on 241620.

| WEEKEND CAMP AT MAXEY |

| Because of the F/M we have not been able to get out much as scouts. So on the Weekend of the 19th-20th May we are running a weekends camp at Maxey just out side of P/boro the camp is to be a weekend fun camp.
Cost of the camp £5, as we only need to cover food.
I hope that we can get every one out camping for the weekend.
We will be doing the planning of the camp tonight at scouts so the scout can have the input of what they want to do.

This Year we are going to Kinsdown Dover for Summer Camp. The Site is on the east coast between Dover and Deal.
It is a joint camp with 2nd Nene; this helps keep the cost down and enables us to do more at camp. The site is a national Scout Camp site.
The Scouts will camp in patrols from there own troop for the week, where they will have to cook, clean and generally help each other throughout the week. Some of the activities that will be on site are shooting, climbing wall, grass skiing, sailing, canoeing and many more. There will be local hike a day trip out to Dover to one of it attractions. The Cost for the week is £125 all in

There is a camp bank if you wish to pay for the camp over a period of time

2001 Programme.

Weekly Canoeing Sessions for Fun and Awards Training.
Sessions are Open to all Scouts, Guides, Ventures, Rangers, Leaders and Parents
They are held on the River Nene at Milton Ferry Bridge. (Old A47 between Peterborough and Castor).
Monday evening sessions or weekends by arrangement.(Contact Bob Burnham tel. 01733 241006)
Tuesday 7 - 9pm General Canoeing. (Contact Arthur Towler tel. 01487 830902) Commence 1st May.
Wednesday 7 - 9pm General Canoeing. (Contact Bob Burnham tel. 01733 241006) Commence 2nd May.
Regular attendance is necessary because canoeists are progressed through various canoeing qualifications

Camp Bank

|
| Camp Bank is open all year round so if you wish to pay for any camp that your son is going on you can do on a weekly or monthly basis.
It would be nice to see as many scouts as possible go on the camps and activities throughout the year. I know that the cost of they camps can be expensive if you only have one son in the troop. If you feel that you need to talk to us about this or any other matter please feel free to do so, we may be able to help.
