History of Myanmar

This is still under construction since this page requires lots of research to write on. Thank you for your patience.
I will be quick. Don't you worry!

What is the history of Myanmar (Burma)? Burma was once a kingdom. The Pyus were one of the first Burmese to rule their kingdom in the central Burma. They existed from about 200 B.C. The Mons were also existing during that era in the southern region of Burma. During the indianization period of Southeast Asia, between 0 A.D and 400 A.D., the Tibeto-Burmans move from the north into the central Burma, creating their own kingdom of Pagan after the Pyus were wiped out by wars from other neighbouring nations. Pagan era was one of the most glorious era ever to have existed in Burma. Its majesty still remains from the ruins of Pagan temples in the city of Pagan in central Burma. Most Pagan kings were ruling tyrants who built temples and shrines after each battle that had been won. They did it for ego too. The Pagans expanded their territory to the Mon kingdom and thus the Burmese culture absorbed some of the Mons'. The Hill tribes exist in those early ages but they did not form kingdoms and had no intention of conquest. However, the Shans did have their own monarchy. Subsequent dynasties followed the Pagan dynasty until the British exiled the last king of Burma in Mandalay, central Burma, to India after the Anglo-Burmese Wars. During the period of the British colonization, Japanese Occupation occurred and the two world wars passed us by. It was then when General Bogyoke Aung San, the father of Independent state of Burma, emerged. He led our people to a free state, not under the British rule no longer. However, he was assasinated right after we obtained our Independence. A democractic government took form but a coupe resulted in a change of government and subsequent political upheavel added to the choatic state of rule in Burma. It was not until Daw Aung San Suu Kyi appeared that the people of Burma had any hope of a democractic government. She is leading us until this day, and we are still on her side, believing in her and in ourselves that we deserve to be treated with equal rights. As very commonly quoted, "This is our second struggle for Freedom".

If there is any error, do make allowances since I am writing this at the back of my head at this very moment.
