NOEL AT THE MUZIK AWARDS
NOEL AT THE MUZIK AWARDS
The following is a transcript of Noel being interviewed at The Muzik Awards where he was a presenter. If you're not sure what The Musik Awards are, click here. *hehe* It's a good laugh, Noel was being his usual self, talking rubbish. ; )

Tell us who you are and what you are doing here. Hi, I’m Noel Gallagher and I’m the most important man in rock. I’m here presenting an award for the Best Compilation Album.

And who is going to win it? I think it’s going to be the Chemical Brothers…or so I’ve been told. I hope so anyway because that’s the only reason I’m here. Seeing as I’ve worked with them before I thought I’d come down. If they don’t really good.

What was it like to see Liam writing lyrics? From what I can remember they were quite touching and really good and I hope he gets off his arse and writes some more because then I don’t have to work so hard. I don’t consider myself to be a decent lyricist. I’m really good with music and melodies but my words let me down really.

So do you feel threatened by him now? No, I’d kick his arse if he took over, he’s younger than me. He’s a whippersnapper.

What does the next few months have in store for you? More writing, more demo-ing, more going on holiday.

What about going on tour again? Well we are not going to start recording until early next year. We’ve got to pick a producer first because I’m not going to produce the next album. I did the first three. Picking a producer maybe a bit of a chore, and once we have done that it is a case of picking the best songs. Then it could take the best part of a year to record so I don’t think there will be a gig for a while yet. There definitely won’t be a gig next year so it is probably going to be the year after that.

How far have you got with the writing? Six songs, plus one of Liam’s.

Are you going to put "Little James" on it? I’d imagine there would be hell to pay if it’s not on there.

So are you saying that next year you are not going to play anywhere or have a record out? I’d say that is probably a definite. You will definitely not see us play unless Michael Eavis wants to give me half a million pounds to go and do an acoustic set at Glastonbury? There won’t be any new Oasis stuff for a couple of years yet. I don’t feel inspired to put new stuff out at the moment. I always need other stuff to bounce off. We always had Primal Scream and Verve in the early days and the Stone Roses but it’s all gone a bit flat at the moment. Something is going to come along though that is going to blow everyone out of the water. The nearest thing I have seen that is anyway approaching that is the Beta Band who I went to see last night. I though they were really good.

What about collaborations? Are you working with anyone else at the moment? I’m working with my wife at trying to clean up the kitchen.

What about babies? No, I’m not collaborating with any babies, except for Liam.

Are you going to the party afterwards? No, I’m not feeling too well. I think I had a dodgy kebab last night. I’m feeling a bit ill so I think I’ll go home.

So you are not "mad for it" any more are you? I was never "mad for it". I was just slightly up for it.
