Sydney MacGregor
Hello, my name is Sandra Cote and
I am the proud owner of an Airedale Terrier.
My family and I have been involved with Airedales for thirteen years. Our first Airedale was Canadian CH. Lookinglass Mistress Mary. Her pet name was Bonnie. Bonnie died at the ripe old age of 12.
After Bonnie died, I found that I just couldn't live my life without one of those fun loving creatures. So, I decided to get another one.
My family and I travelled to
Miramichi, New Brunswick. It is around 2,500 miles from where we live (Winnipeg, Manitoba).
We picked up our new Airedale from Hollytroy Kennels. We got
a male and called him Sydney.
The drive to the Miramichi was very beautiful!
Sydney was excellent for the three day drive back.
Week after week this little guy has grown into what is now a 60 lb "TERROR"!
I don't really mean terror. . .But for those of you who own Airedale's, you should know what I mean.
Sydney is now three years old and returned recently from being campained all over Canada. He did very well in the 3 months he was away. Please see our SHOW RESULTS page for more information.
Sydney had his favorite toys when he
was a puppy, these included a four inch teddy that he carried around by its tiny arm.
He also had a squeaky carrot. Well it used to be a squeaky carrot! These
toys all sort'a vanished over time. All in all, Sydney tends to lead
a very relaxed life. He lazes around and soaks up a few of the sun rays
in the afternoon. WHAT A LIFE!! AN AIREDALE'S LIFE!!
Sydney has developed his own distinctive personality. His sneezing episode is a real head-shaker. He
bangs his nose on the floor every time he sneezes. Its rather funny, but I'm sure
it must hurt.
For the past few months, Sydney
tells us when he wants to go for a walk. He usually gets someones shoes out
to let us know. I wonder if all Airedales do this?
His eating habbits are a little odd
as well. He likes all raw vegetables and all fruits. Its a challenge in the
mornings when I have to get my own breakfast. Sydney sits by me and bugs until
he gets his share.
I am wondering if other Airedale
owners experence the shadow problem. Sydney follows me around the house everywhere.
Even the bathroom! When he was a puppy, I always made sure he was insight and
maybe this is what resulted.
Looking forward to hearing from other Airedale owners.
