Teaa Houdini Morgana LaFay
"Teaa" for short!  She's our 2-yr old Border Collie, and we've even brought her to France with us. She's become a city dog!
It hasn't been updated since before we left Canada, but you might want to visit Teaa's Homepage.

Raphael and Aleister
I love animals and I have 2 adorable cats, one named after the Archangel (that would be the orange fluff-ball) and the other named after The Beast himself *smirk*. Turns out they are both my little angels! I miss them SO much now that I'm in France!

Since September, 2000, we've been living in Poitiers, France. I'm a lectrice d'anglais in a university and Chris is an English
Teaching Assistant at a lycée (high school). We're going home for the summer and coming back to France - we've both
renewed our contracts for the Fall.  I'm afraid Teaa's going to turn into a French Poodle - Nahh, she's too smart for that !
Visit my Page About Poitiers to find out more, see pix & read about the city of Poitiers & about the university where I work.

   The Front Street Cafe
In 1997, I went into business with Chris and my brother, Marc. We bought a small coffee shop. Our Café was lost to fire on Jan 21, 98 but for now the site is still up if you want to read about it and check out the Gallery for "before and after" photos. I know it's been a long time since the fire, but the café was dear to us and I want to keep its site up a while. I invite you to have a peek at what was The Front Street Café.

Click here to discover Meteghan, my hometown! Decouvrez Meteghan, mon village Acadien!

I'm Acadian, from Meteghan, a small village in the Acadian region of Clare, Nova Scotia. That means I'm a Francophone Canadian, whose ancestors come from France. My ancestors on my father's side came from the very region of France where I live now...they left the port of La Rochelle in the 1640's for the New World. I'm really interested in my Acadian culture and history. Acadian French is a sort of dialect/Creole, a mixture of Old French, English, and specific regional elements.

I've started writing a regular column called Carte Postale de la France (Post Card From France), published on the online Acadian newspaper, CapAcadie.com.  It's in French, and some of the articles will also have pictures taken by me.

My main interest is folklore, particularly the Legend of Cy à Mateur (1848-1919) Cy was a local man from the village I'm from, who is said to have sold his soul to the Devil in exchange for powers such as magical flight, changing into animals, and being the best dancer in the world. I am the only person ever to have conducted such a complete 'investigation' into both the man and the legend (if you don't agree, I invite you to tell me, and I will dump so much original research material on your lap that your head will spin!)  My boyfriend, amazed out how much research I did on the man, even started calling me The Daughter of Cy à Mateur.  I wrote my thesis on Cy and have turned it into a book, that is coming out in the summer of 2001 with Les Editions du Grand Pré, a NS-based publishing company.

Celestin Trahan - the legendary Cy a Mateur!    Check out my Cy à Mateur Page for more information and some Acadian links.
