In the United States you, or a direct family member, must own or co-own the dog.
Judges of Junior Showmanship are actually educated. (that's a plus) In various other countries, they choose a great variety of dog specialists and fanciers, but have never been tested. (This IS a present debate in the other countries)
CLASSES:
Novice Junior - 10 to 13 year olds without three firsts
Novice Senior - 14 to 17 year olds without three firsts
Open Junior - 10 to 13 year olds with three firsts
Open Senior - 14 to 17 year olds with three firsts
POINTS:
There are many different point systems for top junior handlers. One of the most valued goals is to achieve 8 firsts, your ticket to the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club show's juniors competition.
