Below is the Cast List from Jimi Hendrix's band and all the people that had anything to do with the band...
Jimi Hendrix
Born Johnny Allen Hendrix, 27th November
1942, Seattle. Died 18th September 1970,
London.
Ed Chalpin
Producer of Hendrix's sessions with Curtis
Knight for Chalpin's own PPX label. Jimi signed
an exclusive recording deal with Chalpin, and
never cancelled it.
Chas Chandler
Former bassist with The Animals, who
'discovered' Hendrix playing in the New York
Clubs. With his partner, Mike Jeffery,
Chandler masterminded Jimi's commercial
breakthrough. Chas took particular interest in
the music, producing the first two Experience
albums. Chas died from heart problems in 1996
Billy Cox
Ex-Army buddy of Hendrix, who was recruited
to play in all Jimi's touring groups from the
summer of 1969 until his death.
Alan Douglas
Record producer, label owner and associate of
Hendrix from 1969 until the end of Jimi's life.
Douglas was left in possession of several
Hendrix tapes, and subsequently became
involved in assembling posthumous releases.
Since 1980, he has ostensibly controlled the
Hendrix Estate's handling of Jimi's musical
catalogue, but only up to a couple of years ago.
Mike Jeffery
Co-manager of Hendrix from 1966 onwards
with Chas Chandler, taking sole command after
Chandler retired from the fray in 1969. After
Jimi's death, he oversaw the release of the
initial posthumous albums, until he was killed in
a 1973 plane crash.
Curtis Knight
Struggling soul singer in 1965, who recruited
Hendrix as guitarist with his band, The Squires.
He recorded with Jimi in 1965 and again in the
summer of 1967, and has written two books
about their relationship.
Eddie Kramer
Studio engineer from England, who became one
of America's leading pruducer/engineers. He
worked with Hendrix from late 1966 until his
death, and also contributed his skills to many of
the posthumous releases.
Buddy Miles
Former drummer with The Electric Flag and
The Buddy Miles Express, who worked with
Hendrix intermittently in 1968, and then
formed the Band Of Gypsys with him in late
1969, until early 1970.
Mitch Mitchell
Teenage drumming prodigy, who was recruited
for The Jimi Hendrix Experience in 1966, and
remained with Jimi - except for the Band Of
Gypsys - until his death. Noel Redding
The bassist in The Jimi Hendrix Experience,
who departed in the summer of 1969 to
concentrate on his own spin-off band, Fat
Mattress. Also contributed occasional
songs/vocals to Experience albums.
Juma Sultan
Percussionist who first joined Hendrix's band
just before Woodstock, and worked with him
intermittently in the studio and on stage for the
next year. Lonnie Youngblood
Like Curtis Knight, an otherwise forgotten R&B
artist, who sand and played sax on some 1963
recordings which featured Hendrix on tentative
guitar. Without Youngblood's blessing, scores
of albums have been released featuring his
sixties work with Jimi, many of them 'faked' by
adding a Hendrix imitator to existing Jimi-less
tracks.
