Who We Are |
|||
| Grace Presbyterian Church of Redding, California an independent community Church The name of our congregation says a lot about who we are. Grace means that we believe that God's gift of salvation to us is given freely through our Lord Jesus Christ. It is not by any good works which we have done, by only through the person and work of Jesus Christ. He lived a sinless life and then died on the Cross for His people. He took the wrath of God against us so that God may now freely forgive us. The debt we owed has been paid! Salvation is based solely on God's free grace! Presbyterian means that our congregation is governed by Elders or Presbyters (the two terms are interchangeable in the Bible) elected by the congregation to govern and guide the Church. Presbyterian also means we use the Westminster Confession of Faith with the Shorter and Longer Catechisms as our confessions of faith and tools for instructing Christians in the teachings of the Holy Bible. Independent means we are not affiliated with any denomination. Our church is governed locally by men elected by the members of this congregation. Our commitment is to the Word of God. We may in the future seek denominational affiliation with one of the national Presbyterian groups, but whether we do this or not we are under the headship and protection of our Lord Jesus Christ as a local Church in submission to His teachings in the Bible. Community means that Grace Presbyterian Church is based in the Redding community and that everyone seeking to know God is welcome to attend the services and the meetings of this congregation. Now that you know a little about us, why not come and worship with us? We'd be encouraged by your attendance, and we hope you will be too. We meet each Sunday morning at the Buckeye Grange Hall, 12508 Lake Blvd. (just 2 miles north of the intersection with Oasis Rd) in Redding, California at 11am. (Directions) |
