PREVIOUSLY: Peter Parker's Point of View: Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends...Peter Parker's life. So thanks to some dimension-hopping with the Fantastic Four, I ended up losing two months of Earth time. I come back, J. Jonah Jameson is mayor, a city-wide police task force is out to arrest me on sight and J. Jonah Jameson Sr. (that's right, Jonah's got parents – my theory that he was spawned on a locker room floor is nixed) is macking it to my Aunt May.

But hey, I'm always beaten, but never broken – I decided to show Jonah what I'm made of and go on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Crime? I fight it. Traffic? I direct it. Tourists lost in the Bronx? I help them out. I won't let "Mayor" Jameson (ooh it hurts to write that) ruin my good name.

But I've got bigger problems – see that guy in red? He's been attacking and...well...eating criminals across the city. The street gangs call him The Vulture. I've been down that road before, but old Adrian Toomes is in jail...and he can't spit blinding acid into my eyes like this guy just did.

REVIEW: The acid spewed by the new Vulture blinding him, his spider-sense screaming alarmingly, Spider-Man is helpless to stop his opponent from swooping down and hitting him in the back, which sends him crashing to the ground. Spidey tries to tag the "Vulture" with his web, unsuccessfully. The "Vulture" is taking advantage of Spidey's incapacitated state to continue his attack on him. Thinking back to his friend Daredevil, Spidey comes to the realization that, to defeat the "Vulture", he needs to let his other senses compensate for not being able to see. Thus, he focuses his spider-sense on the source of the danger and, just as the "Vulture" is about to tackle him from behind, he unexpectedly spins around and proceeds to take the Vulture down. He then covers his face in webbing and tosses him across the rooftop. The "Vulture" struggles to break free from the webbing and when he does, he simply flies away, leaving Spidey to collapse on the rooftop, completely exhausted, though his vision is thankfully starting to come back.

The following day, we find ourselves in Forest Park in Queens where recent couple J. Jonah Jameson Sr. and Aunt May are spending time together. After joking around about how they met each other – through Betty Brant – JJJ Sr. proceeds to ask Aunt May to marry him and she accepts!

Peter Parker, as Spider-Man, returns to his apartment and enters his room through the window. He takes off his torn costume – simultaneously making plans to swap it for one of his spare ones. His eyes still sensitive to light, he dons a pair of sunglasses and proceeds to go into the kitchen to grab a bite to eat – all this, he does while naked. He starts raiding the fridge, all the while assuming Betty Brant is to thank for looking after his apartment. As he closes the fridge door, he gets the shock of his life when he comes face-to-face with an unknown raven-haired woman. Both he and the woman scream loudly upon seeing each other. Terrified, the woman tells Peter that she knows martial arts and that she'll send him to the hospital unless he leaves right away. Peter explains who he is and is stunned to find out that the woman is none other than Vin Gonzales' sister, Michelle Gonzales. It turns out that Michelle has been living there for the past six weeks, taking care of her brother's apartment, as well as representing him on his case (she's a lawyer). She did hear about Peter being Vin's roommate but she figured he was out of town or dead or something. She asks Peter when he came in, as she did not hear him. Peter replies that he'll answer that question after he puts some clothes on; he goes into his room. Through the door, Michelle tells Peter that she's been putting his mail aside for months, as well as taking dozens of phone messages for him. When Peter asks if people sounded worried, Michelle responds that they did not seem very worried at all; in fact, their responses seem to indicate that they were not at all surprised he was gone without telling anybody. Adding insult to injury, Michelle adds that Vin told her about Peter being a flake but did not mention anything about him being a nudist. Peter sighs heavily, brushes off the jab at him, and asks how long she is going to be around. She replies that she'll be there for as long as it takes to settle things with Vin. Plus, since she co-signed the lease with Vin, the place is hers, as far as she's concerned, and she doesn't have the patience to baby-sit an irresponsible exhibitionist whose stuff she was about to box for goodwill. Having said that, she tells Peter she has to leave for an appointment and warns him to stay away from her food. She takes her leave and slams the door behind her. Peter cannot believe his luck; of all the women he could have been a roommate with, he gets stuck with Vin's temperamental sister.

Later that night, at the maximum-security prison known as the Raft, we find Adrian Toomes, a.k.a. the original Vulture, reading a book in his cell. Suddenly, a web snags his shirt and he’s pulled towards the cell window, where Spider-Man awaits (on the other side). Spidey wants to know what his connection is to the new nastier Vulture who's been taking control of the airways. In a surprising twist, Toomes reveals that he has zero affiliation with the new villain, though he wishes this pretender does dispose of the wall-crawler, if he’s as deadly as they say.

In a dark alley, a burglar has obviously been captured by Spider-Man, as he's webbed up to a wall, upside down. The thief is screaming for help, evidently aware that the new Vulture will waste him if he finds him. On cue, the winged villain shows up to feed on the burglar only to be unexpectedly intercepted by Spidey, who had set up the whole thing as a bait-and-trap scene. Spidey quickly punches his opponent and starts webbing him up. But the new Vulture cuts through the webbing using his razor sharp wings. He then prepares to take off but Spidey snags his feet with a webline. The Vulture flies off, Spidey in tow.

It’s Legends Day at the New Yankee Stadium and none other than J. Jonah Jameson is in attendance with his assistant Anderson. Everything seems to be going well, until Jameson looks up and sees Spider-Man and the new Vulture swooping down into the stadium. Using the momentum of his flight, the new Vulture sends Spidey flying right into several windows of some of the mezzanine suites. Norman Osborn happens to be in one of the suites and, upon seeing Spider-Man, considers sending the new Venom after him, but rescinds that thought when he realizes that Spider-Man is digging his own grave. Case in point, several people are angry at Spider-Man's lack of care and thought for public safety (because he crashed through the windows). At ground level, Spidey prepares himself to intercept his incoming opponent. Now aware of his adversary's strength, Spidey decides to web his feet to the ground so that the Vulture cannot get the tactical advantage by flying them off into the sky. Spidey's plan works, as seconds later, when the new Vulture tackles him, Spidey's feet remain firmly glued to the ground. The new Vulture attempts to blind Spidey once again by spewing acid from his mouth, but Spidey knows better this time and he moves his head accordingly. He then grabs his opponent in a tight bear hug and starts squeezing, preventing him from flying away. The new Vulture finally speaks and tells Spidey that he will not be able to hold on much longer. Just then, Spidey notices Norman Osborn in his private viewing suite. Fueled by his hate for Osborn, Spidey continues to squeeze the new Vulture and ends up breaking both his arms. As he webs up his defeated adversary, the police surround him, instructing him to freeze. The spectators, infuriated to have had their baseball game interrupted, are starting to throw things at Spidey. Realizing that he is outnumbered, by non-powered individuals, Spidey swings off before the police can arrest him.

The following day, Spider-Man is hanging from a building, reading the latest edition of the DB, which retells his interruption of Legends Day at Yankee Stadium. It seems the city and its' inhabitants are back to hating him, despite everything he's done for them in the past few weeks. Spidey's thoughts reveal that he's come to the realization that it was not Jonah Jameson getting to him, it was Norman Osborn and it's always been Norman Osborn, plain and simple. Making matters worse is the fact that Osborn is one of the most powerful man in America, because he – Spidey – failed to stop him when he had the chance. Spidey has blamed himself long enough. Right there and then, he vows to take down Osborn, no matter who stands in his way. He then swing away, unaware that where he was last hanging, there are tiny green tentacles thingies that just appeared.

The end...for now.
