MAKING A DREAM JOURNAL
TO BEST UNDERSTAND YOUR DREAMS, YOU SHOULD KEEP A DREAM JOURNAL SO YOU CAN ANALYZE THEM. HERE IS A GOOD WAY OF STARTING ONE:
Immediately write down the dream including a date and a title based on the most unusual image or something that will later remind you of that dream. When you write up your dream, make sure you have the whole story, themes, symbols, key phrases, and emotions. Also include as many details as you can. Also add in any poetry, pictures, or photographs that will remind you of your dream.
Answer these questions after writing them up:
1.) When you first woke up, how did you feel? Were you depressed, happy, sad?
2.) What other dreams or life memories does this dream remind you of?
3.) Where does your dream take place? Are you familiar with this place? Outside or inside?
4.) What colors are in your dreams, if any? How do you associate with these colors?
5.) What happened the day before that could have influenced your dream?
6.) What are the key phrases and symbols that you notice? How do you associate with them?
7.) What are the traits in the other characters of your dreams that could be parts of you that you are disowning?
To make it easier when you are answering these questions, you should shorten them like this:
1.) Feelings when awakening:
2,) Other dreams/memories:
5.) Events of the day before:
7.) Traits of other characters:
