The Barracudas started their Fall 1998 season
in impressive style by winning the Blossom Valley Tom Radesic Memorial Tournament.
In four games, the Cudas balanced attack produced 15 goals by 7 players, and 25 assists by
9 different players, while the iron defense gave up only two goals. In the final
game, the Cudas had to overcome the Mustang Heat in the Morgan Hill heat (97
degrees). Even though the Cudas dominated, it was anybody's game at half-time when
the Cudas led 2-1. The game was iced early in the second half with Marisa's
second goal of the game on her way to a hat trick. Two more insurance goals and a
defense that cooled off the Heat carried the Cudas to a final score of 5-1.
The Blossom Valley tournament was one of the
best run tournaments we've ever participated in. We highly recommend this
tournament.
