The Cape Horn Self-Steering Windvane Project

Ever since attending the Pacific Sail Expo in Oakland, CA in 1997 when I met Yves Gelinas and saw his Cape Horn Windvane, I knew that someday one would adorn the transom of Sugar Magnolia. Well, that day has finally arrived!

B-Measure, measure, then measure again before you do this!
C-A clean, properly aligned hole through 1-3/16" of solid laminate.
D-GDryfitting and marking.
H-The mounting tube, abraded between the marks.
I-Epoxy coating the hole.
J-Epoxy coating the mounting tube.

Coming soon: Filletting and glassing-in the mounting tube and positioning and installation of struts.
