Ben's Adventures!

Hello Again Rosina!
Mood:  bright
Topic: Doctor's Appointment
Today, Ben had his 6th month checkup. His favorite part was playing with the paper that covers the exam table. He was 17 lbs, 10 oz and 27 inches...Which sounds like good stats for a Thanksgiving turkey!

Happy 6 Months!
Mood:  happy
For Ben's half birthday, we went all out and took him on his first subway ride. We took him to Boston Common to see stuff but all he really cared about was the grass. We also ran into Uncle John while he was at work. It was a beautiful day to have a half birthday in deed.

Weebles Wobble But They Don't Fall Down
Mood:  amorous
Ben's our little Weeble these days. He's sitting up, but after awhile, he just weebles on over. Now I know why I enjoyed those toys as a kid.

Happy Birthday Sean!
Mood:  celebratory
Ben enjoyed going to Uncle Sean's birthday party at the ice rink today. He got to see his uncles and a bunch of little boys running around. Ben wanted to go skating and show off his moves. Since we are mean parents, we wouldn't let him play on the ice. He decided to just sit in his car seat and play with a balloon instead.

Rosh Hashanah Fun!
Mood:  party time!
Grandmama came up for a visit and boy was it a memorable visit! After a busy day of shopping at Shopper's World, we headed back home to create our Rosh Hashanah Feast! Grandmama was queen of Potato Latke's and I heated up some Matzo Ball Soup and kosher wienies and saurkraut! We also made some Noodle Pudding! YUMMY YUMMY! The men folk were very happy with our domestic abilities in a different culture.

Big E Fun!
Mood:  happy
Today we got Ben dressed in his John Deere onesie and headed down I-90 to the Big E! Although Ben slept through most of the animal exhibits, he did catch a really exciting OxyClean demonstration, a marching band from Windsor, CT, and he got to see pictures of all the governors from the New England states. He also missed his Ma-Ma and Daddy eating a cream puff...it was delicious and he could have enjoyed trying it. He'll just have to wait until next year!

Ben's no Derrick Zoolander!!!
Mood:  celebratory
We took Ben in to have his "professional" photos taken...So only the classiest place would do for us Haughs - Target!

Ben didn't do too hot for the camera...I don't think he'll be a male model. He was happy as a clam before and after the pictures, but he just was not all about posing and doing the cute baby thing for Miss Target Photographer. I think her name was Brittney. If you want to be classy like us Haughs, you too can get your photos done at Target all for only $8.99! You'll need to get the coupon of course, but nothing says high-class like using coupons at a Portrait Studio!

Mufflers, Oil Filters, Brake Pads, Oh My!
Mood:  silly
Late this afternoon, Ben and I decided to visit "Daddy" at his shop. Daddy mentioned to me a couple days ago that my tires were looking a little flat. He told me to go put some air in them...but that seemed like a lot of work. So we thought we would be nice and drop by his shop so he could do it for us. Ben made me stop and get Daddy some KFC Snackers to show our appreciation.

I'm better than Martha Stewart!
Mood:  d'oh
What does one do when they have some pears that are overripe? You probably said throw them away, however, Mrs. Domestic Goddess that I am these days, I did not do that! I peeled them, cored them, steamed them and pureed them and Ben is enjoying Ma-Ma's Homemade Pears! I feel so wholesome...sort of like an Amish person.

Happy 5th Month Birthday to Ben!
Mood:  spacey
For Ben's fifth month birthday, we ventured out to find a kitchen/utility/microwave cart with a drawer. We had no luck. We've been searching high and low for a cabinet about 3 feet wide and 2 feet deep. We did come across a very high quality towel rack for our hallway. This will come in handy for Ben when he starts walking. Why you ask? When I least suspect it, I figure Ben will decide to take all of our clean towels and throw them all over the apartment. We were smart in picking out this fine item!
