Back to the hospital!

We took a leisurely stroll up to St. Elizabeth's today to visit the Great Uncle Fran! Everytime that man gets admitted into a hospital he looks better than he did before hand!

We also ventured out to West Roxbury for some fresh air at Uncle Sean's little league game. Ben was very impressed with his skills and hopes he can be as good as Sean someday...Ben's dream is to play for the best baseball team out there: the New York Yankees!

Formula, Sweet Formula!

We gave Ben some formula today for the first time and this stuff is great! Not only does he seem to love the stuff, but it fills him up like no tomorrow and he is happy and calm and sleepy! Why didn't anyone ever tell me about this stuff!!?!!

No more Newborn!

It is today that I realized that Newborn clothing just won't fit Benny Boy anymore! How sad!

I went to my post-pardom check up today. The medical assistants enjoyed playing with Ben. One of them said he is such a cute little baby (well look at his parents...no wonder he's so cute!). So I replied "you probably get to see tons of cute babies all the time!" In which she replied, "oh no...a lot of babies are really funny looking!" I'm glad we have the "professional" reassurance that he is cute. I reminded him in the car that he is lucky that he's so darn cute because if he wasn't, we were going to sell him to the gypsies! ha ha!! Only kidding!

Mother's Day!

Today was my first Mother's Day and Ben got me just what I wanted - a new pair of old lady slippers! He's such a wonderful son! His mother is raising him so well! ha ha ha!

First Smile for the Pretty Mother!

Today I decided that Ben has smiled at me...I thought he might have for the past two days, but was thinking he might have just taken joy in pooping his pants yet again. Today, however, I decided that I need a reward for all this mothering I have been doing, so his expression of joy when he saw me this morning was not because he passed gas - it was because he was happy to see me! And why wouldn't he be happy to see me? I am a pretty one to look at! Ben must be happy he has a pretty mother! ha ha ha ha!

The Grocery Store!
Ben went to his first grocery store this evening! Oh how exciting! He was particularly fond of the meat department! He got fussy in the Mexican aisle as we were picking up some Ortega taco kits, but quickly fell back asleep as James held him and walked him by the pickles!

Another friend for Ben!

Congratulations to Patty and Glen! They had their little daughter, Paige today! We can't wait to meet her! Paige is lucky - really wonderful babies are born on the 4th!

We survived our first trip to a restaurant!
Okay so it was really a bar...well sort of. We went to the Corrib Pub which is a bar and a restaurant. The bar was pretty packed because the Red Sox were playing the first game of the season against the New York Yankees! Unfortunately, the Yankees lost...it was sad. We cheered for Johnny Damon though because he's finally playing for a decent team!

Back to the real meat of this bloggie thing: The restaurant had hardly any people in it...and it was an Irish place...we have to keep our Sonny Boy true to his roots. It was delicious as always...cheap, good food is the way to go. Ben didn't cry much but he kept wanting to be held which was okay...we passed him around like a hot potato while we devoured our delicious pub food. Many thanks to Grandma Julie and Aunty Erin for dragging our lazy butts out!

First Trip to New Hampshire!
Ben is becoming a worldwide traveler! Not even a month old and he has ventured over the state line! Our first stop in New Hampshire? DUNKIN DONUTS! We met our friend Patty there! She is actually about to pop anyday! She's having a little girl - Paige - who is one of many little girls Ben will have to frolic with! With all these little girls around him, he'll either be a MacDaddy or he might be the next generation host of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy...hummmm!

We also ventured to Aunt Sheila's house for a little mini reunion of Grandma Julie's family! (the main purpose of our trip - not Dunkin Donuts!) We haven't seen or met a lot of the people there so it was nice to spend some time with that branch of Ben's complicated family tree.

Today Ben went in for his 3 week well visit! He weighed 8 lbs exactly and was just shy of 21 inches! James and I must be doing something right since he seems to be thriving!

Grandma Julie and Aunty Erin came up to visit! They are having fun in the Boston Metropolitan region! We are going to venture to Salem, NH to meet other relatives on Saturday! Oh what fun!
