PROS AND CONS OF WINDOWS XP

PRO: stability of xp is much better than that of windows 98. You must really have to cloud the computers mind with programs to get a result similar to the "blue screen of death" which often displayed on other windows operating systems.

CON: It seems microsoft hasnt learned its lesson since so many convictions of their monopolistic style takeover of the computer world, you are only too often redirected and also forced to only deal with MIcrosoft programs and file types.

PRO: Programs work a heck of alot faster than previous operating systems.

CON: Youll have to spend alot of time and bandwidth downloading software not related to microsoft and the installation is a hassle.

PRO: Fast user-switching is a plus, where many users can have ther own saved settings.

CON: The program also takes up alot of space. A total of 1.5 gigabytes of yor precious hardrive space.

PRO: Windows update feature has become even more easier to use, updates are downloaded while you work if you wish, and even installed when not using the computer. The system also shuts itself down after installing.

CON: Some user-friendly features microsoft used to adopt are not so friendly anymore. Menu features and the use of the control panel is more complicated for the untrained user.
