History of Kenjutsu

Kenjutsu can be traced back as far as the 9th Century even before the time of the Samurai which was around 12th Century.

Other arts such as Iaido and Kendo have since derived from Kenjutsu and today Kendo is an International competitive sport, but back in the 9th Century the art of Kenjutsu would have been for one thing only, killing an enemy.

O'Sensei took the principles of Kenjutsu and applied his philosophy to them thus creating the Aiki-Ken.
