Atypical pneumonia is in contrast to the typical pneumonia which is caused by Pneumococcal pneumonia or Streptococcus pneumonia.Clinical symptoms of the cases are typically fever, chest pain, cough and heavy sputum etc. The laboratory test showed the increased leukocytes of blood.Atypical pneumonia is also called as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome(SARS). The pathogen of atypical pneumonia may be related to virus, mycoplasmal , chlamydial, legionellaceae, rickettsii. The clinical symptoms including sign of lung , the change of blood leukocytes are not as obvious as the typical one that is identically caused by bacteria.
Atypical Pneumonia has been a huge impact to Hongkong People, both economically and physically.Retailers and restaurant owners estimated that business had dropped 40-50 per cent as the fear of the illness hit home.Schools have been suspended for more than 3 weeks to prevent the spread of SARS.This effected the studys of all the students.A lot of people lots their jobs that made them financially broke.Tourist business have been bad also.A lot of them are afraid to visit hongkong and the other country's government don't allow their citizen to visit HongKong to prevent the spread.And most of all,a lot of family lost their loved ones : (
1. Wear a Mask.
2.Check your temperature daily, if temperature is over 38 centigrate you better see your doctor!!
3.Maintain personal hygiene.
4.Avoid SARS affected areas.
5.Make sure you get enough sleep.
6.Make sure you get enough carbohydrate foods (e.g. rice, food concentrated in starch... etc) because carbohydrate is the primary food for immune cells . Do some Gatorade or Pocari if needed since they are both good sources of carbohydrate.
We should cooperate to whatever the government asked us to do, so that we could stop this disease."JOIN HANDS,FIGHT THIS DISEASE" is the only key to stop it.If Hongkong people don't take this seriously this disease will last for a very long time because as for now there's not drugs to kill it.
