My name is Juleigh. I am a local baby sitter for the Cleveland County NC area. I am in the 7th grade at Crest. I am in the proccess now of taking a baby sitting course at my local red cross. *never do anything that could hurt you or the child
*make sure you are notified of allergies
*be polite and respectful of the childs parent(s)
*if you make a mess in a customers house, be nice enough to clean it up.
How much should I charge?
Here is the deal with how much you charge. Ask your self this question...As a baby sitter how much am I worth? You can rate your self by saying , would I want the person that is responsible for my child to be like this? Well there are many different scales to how much you charge. If you are just starting out an advrage price would be $3.00-$4.50 an hour. As you become more experienced you can begin to raise your price.
First Aide
First aide is a very important role in becoming a good baby sitter. There are many things that you need to ask the parents about the childs health.Things that the child could have are.....
*asthma
*alergic to bee stings
*poison ivy,oak,or sumac
*cuts
*scrapes
*bumbs or rashes
*chokeing
*food alergies
So you see there are lots of things to watch out for!!!!!
Uh-oh
Ok now wouldn't life be much better if no one made mistakes? I think it would be, but unfortunatly we all make mistakes. During while your baby sitting your most likely going to do something that you probaly shouldn't have done. Like breake a vace or lose your patients with the child. But we all have to remember that we learn from our mistakes. So if you make a boo-boo just tell your customers when they get home. A customer will respect the fact that you told them the truth rather than lieing about it.
The Key
There is a key to every thing in life. There is a key to business, a key to education, and a key to a career. Well there is also a key to baby sitting. It is to give your customers peace of mind. That means that your customers feel like they can go off and have a good time and feel safe about leaving you alone with their children.So the more comfortable you make the customer feel about leaving their kids alone with you, the better off you are!!!!
Joke of the week
One day a man was driving down the road and looked back into his rearview mirror and saw a police behind him. So he started speeding up and kept going faster and faster. Finally the police man caught up with the man and ask him why he was running from him. The man replied My wife ran away with a police officer last week and I thought you might be trying to bring her back!!!! :)
Tips for parents
When you go off to have a good time and you worry every second about your child at home with the baby sitter, this means that you dont fully trust your baby sitter. If you want to make your time off more enjoyable then hire a baby sitter that you trust.
