Introduction
Hello, I'm Gabriel M. #16 Perplexities. This is a website I'm doing for school and it's actually a virtual book report! I have a section about the Author, Plot, Characters and even a quiz that you can test your knowledge on! I'm doing a whole book report on a website. The name of my book is Pure Dead Magic written by Debi Gliori (pictured above). Debi Gilori lives her life in Scotland. She started her career of writing children's books in 1976, her education was an art school in Edinburgh which she attended in 1979. Her story Mr. Bear which she wrote and illustrated won a Children's Book Award. Her works include:

Titus Strega-Borgia- Titus is twelve years old. He lives with his family in Strega-Schloss, the mansion belonging to the Strega-Borgia family. He is the son of Baci Strega-Borgia and Luciano Strega-Borgia. He is the brother of Damp and Pandora Strega-Borgia. Titus is very caring, for example when his sister Damp got transported in to the World Wide Web, he helped find his sister, no matter how intense the risks were. Second of all, Titus is very smart with computer technology. His intelligence helped him find a way to look for his sister Damp, and find out where his father is too! Unfourtunatley everyone has there obssesions, including Titus. Death and Destruction II is probably Titus' favorite computer game, and even at an urgent time Death and Destruction is always first. Pandora Strega-Borgia- the ten year old sister of Titus and Damp. The daughter of Luciano and Baci Strega-Borgia. Pandora is the second sibling, who may over react at times but can be happy and joyful at appropriate times. Pandora is always focused and is willing to take big risks, for example she and her brother wagered that if she doesnt find her lost rats, she would have to take a swim in the moat, with an unfriendly character. Tock. a ferocious alligator who attacks all trespassers. Another quality about Pandora is her humane understanding of animals. Pandora can have pleasant conversations with the feminine spider in the attic, Tarantella. She owns a rat Multitudina, who she loves so much. Pandora is a very emotional character, when her rat got lost, she sobbed, but took action to look for her immediatley, she also felt devasteted when she lost her sister Damp.
Damp Strega-Borgia- the fourteen month old sister of Titus and Pandora Strega-Borgia. She is the daugter of Luciano and Baci Strega-Borgia. Damp is the little baby of the family who is just full of curiosity. Damp is one curious little baby, she wonders about everything including the new nanny Mrs. McLachlan that she is dependent on and knows very well. Since Damp is a baby she is certainly fragile and is easily insulted or frightened, for example as Tarantella tried to save Damp from the internet Damp showed an example of how fragile her feelings are, but most of the time Damp is happy and playful, and she likes to play with her nanny and her siblings.
Baci Strega-Borgia- Baci Strega-Borgia is the mother of Titus Damp and Pandora, and she is the wife of Luciano Strega-Borgia. Baci is a witch that lives in Strega-Schloss with her bewitched family of three children and a husband. Baci is a woman with great strength, after her husband had left her and hadn't been back for weeks, and weeks. She had been forced to stay home, with her children and to hire a nanny. She also has goals that she is ready to set no matter what, even if it means leaving her children alone with a nanny for two weeks to fly on her broomstick and learn witchcraft in England. But as energetic as she may seem Baci has her sleepy moments as when she lay drunk in her bed as her children told her about losing their little sister, so Baci could be sleepy too.
Luciano Strega-Borgia- Luciano is the father of Titus, Pandora and Damp. He is also the husband of Baci Strega-Borgia. Luciano lost his temper one day, left the house and got kidnapped by his gangster brother Lucifer. Luciano is very short tempered, because the fact he went storming out of the house in rage after a small fight with the family. Even though short tempered, he is quite courageous, because after being kidnapped by his villain brother Lucifer who held him hostage in his palazzo in Italy, Luciano showed no fear and tried his best to contact his family using e-mail. Even though Luciano abandoned his family, his family has great memories of him, how he helped Titus on the computer and even helped Baci with the kids so they didn't need a naany.
Don Lucifer Di S'Embowelli Borgia - Lucifer is the mafia uncle of Titus, Pandora, and Damp, he is the brother-in-law of Baci, and the cruel brother of Luciano. Lucifer is very greedy, because he wanted greedily to be the next Don after his father would die, and he wanted to inherit all the money. I would describe him as a thief because he kidnapped Luciano, because he wanted to be more greedy and to take more money. On the positive side though Lucifer is very complex. He owns a whole room filled with computers, modems, and wires, and they're all Lucifer's this is why he'd also be complex.
Flora McLachlan- Mrs. McLachlan is the amazing nanny of the Strega-Borgia children. Flora, originally from Scotland got hired as a nanny after Luciano left the house. Flora, who is always easy going and never streesed has a Easy going style for her. When people are in strees, Flora takes it easy, and usually solves the problem peacefully. She has some witch to her though, because she has some magical powers, which includes her bewitched makeup case which can transform something to anything in the world. Flora is mostly a happy funny person who loves to help others and is fearless next to the wild beasts of the dungeon downstairs.
Pronto- Pronto is Lucifers evil assistant. Pronto also lives in the Don Lucifer's grand palazzo and serves him whenever he pleases. I would describe Pronto as almost robotic because of every command Don Lucifer says, Pronto is quickly at it. This does noot only make him robotic but vey loyal too. He helps the Don in every way and would never be disloyal. On the bad side though, Pronto is quite an evil person. He broke into the StregaSchloss and hired a hitman to kill the Strega-Borgias. Just because he's loyal, doesn't mean he's nice...
Plot
The Strega-Borgias all lived a happy live in their mansion called StregaSchloss, until the father Luciano Strega-Borgia got in to rage, and stormed out of the house leaving his wife and children alone. While Luciano was out he was mysteriously kidnapped by his brother Lucifer who lived in a grand palazzo in Italy. Meanwhile the family was having quite a tough time. They had to hire a nanny because Luciano was gone and the nanny's name is Flora McLahclan. Meanwhile Luciano was being kidnapped by his brother Don Lucifer Di S'Embowelli Borgia. The Don sent him to Italy to his grand palazzo there. He did this because he wanted to kill him so he could inherit the amount that Titus, Luciano's first born son, was going to inherit when he is thirteen. He is going to inherit this because the previous Don, Lucifer and Luciano's father wrote in the will twelve years ago that his money will go his first born granchild, Titus. But now are modern times and twelve years later Lucifer wanted his fathers money. He found a way to kill his brother. He was going to get plastic surgery on his nose but before leaving the house he would set a fire making everything terribly hot and Luciano would die. Lucifer also had the perfect alibi. A thousand miles away, the Strega-Borgias were worrying about Luciano, they worried very much after the day he argued with his family and left the house. To make matters worse Pandora, Titus' sister, was playing aroung with her mother's magic wands and accidentally shrunk her sister Damp and sent her flying in to the modem and Damp was lost in cyberspace. Panic came over the house, but Pandora thought of a good idea. She would shrink herself and get her baby sister, and her father. She found her sister on another webpage in cyberspace, and her father was in Italy, so she had to fly in cyberspace until she reached Don Lucifer's modem which was in the house that Luciano was burning in. But before it was too late, she rescued her father from fire and they returned home and lived happily ever after... except for Lucifer, the villain in the mystery, who got a very unsucsessful surgery, and a very unsucsessful murder plan.
