Our Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide community gardening opportunities to all, regardless of individual circumstances in order to promote self-suffiency and wellness, build and strengthen community relationships through shared garden experiences, provide information and educational resources, promoting sustainable gardedn practices, and encourage the responsible use of natural resources. |

About Cobequid Community Gardens
Cobequid Community Garden Society was established in 1999 by Marg MacDonald. It is a non-profit organization that provides the community of Truro and surrounding areas with community gardening opportunities. Cobequid Community Gardens provides 101 gardening plots measured 15'x40'. They are located on Marshland Drive in Truro, Nova Scotia. The plot costs $25 plus a minimum of eight hours of volunteer work which can be completed in the garden itself. (ex.mowing the lawn or in office support.)

Cobequid Community Gardens offers a Youth Initative Program as well as a Simplify My Life Program for young adults who need help preparing for the work force or for secondary education.
There is also a Back to Basics Program that is offered to any members of the community in which they can come in to CCG and learn how to prepare and cook cost efficient meals for themselves or their families. There is childcare provided by CCG for those who have children.
