The purpose of my web site:
As'salamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatu Allah Wa Barakatuh (God's peace, mercy and blessings be upon you) and upon your families as well.
Due to a number of misunderstandings by some of the Christian readers, I would like to identify my purpose for creating this web site. When I came to the U.S. in 1988, I didn't know anything about Christianity. I was born and raised as a Muslim in the Middle East in 1975. While in college, I became involved with missionaries and for approximately 3 years I was very interested in Christianity. Later on when I started using the Internet, I came across a vast number of offending sites against Islam. The large majority of ANTI-ISLAMIC web sites were posted by primarily Arab Christians.
This one-sided and prejudiced attitude prompted me to deepen my investigation and increase my knowledge of both Christianity and Islam. Before my investigation I was seriously considering converting to Christianity. I previously debated with my father about the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon Him and Islam. I joined several Bible Studies and visited various Christian Churches on Sundays.
There are only 10 million Muslims in the total population of the United States of America. I found it very disturbing that the Internet has such a large amount of ANTI-ISLAMIC web sites.
I became very disturbed by the overwhelming number of Christians in the United States who openly ridiculed my religion. I came to realize, without any doubt, that Islam is indeed the true religion of GOD Almighty. I made the decision to take it upon myself to defend my religion with the best of my ability. I believe any loyal, good, and faithful person to his religion and people would do the same.
I didn't come to the U.S. to battle Christians. When I was back home I didn't even think about Christianity. I found myself thrown into this battle of religions after coming to the United States and I have no choice but to defend my religion. The last thing I want to happen is for our young Muslim brothers and sisters born in the U.S. is to be influenced by information on the Internet that does not present the real truth about both sides: Islam and Christianity.
I want to expose my experience with Christianity to them and to show them that the Bible is not the book that teaches freedom of speech and choice as many Americans and Westerners purport. I also want to expose to them that the Bible doesn't respect women, since Islam is always attacked from the issue of the inequality of women. I want to prove to as many Muslim brothers and sisters as possible that Jesus is not and cannot be God nor ever claimed to be God. I also want to encourage them to investigate Islam, a beautiful religion of love and peace and not a religion of hatred as it is often portrayed by Westerners.
If you wonder why my web site is called "Answering Christianity", well that's because a group of anti-Islamics called "Answering Islam" had created a web site that falsely attacks Islam. Their site is several years older than mine. I remember seeing them on the internet at least 3 years before I created this site.
My hope is that you will now understand my position and intentions.
Thank you and God bless you!
Yours in Islam,
