4/30/01-The Popstars of Eden's Crush Talk About New Record, Upcoming 'NSync Tour. A month after playing its first gig before a national television audience on the WB's reality show Popstars, the five-woman pop band Eden's Crush is preparing for an opening slot on the 'NSync tour and the release of its debut record, Popstars, due Tuesday May 1st. It's a huge leap for a group that didn't exist until March and allowed large corporate production and songwriting teams to construct its entire album. But Eden's Crush has a little experience on the show's final episode, the band headlined at the Palace, an 1,800-seat theater in Los Angeles. "Big difference," says Maile Misajon, 24, of Long Beach, Calif. "For the Palace, it was definitely getting a full show together -- costumes, seeing what the venue was going to look like, getting used to the in-ear monitors with the headsets, hiring dancers. Whereas, with 'NSync, I think we're doing three songs."

4/27/01-Joey's, "Oh Baby"? 'NSync's Joey Fatone reportedly become a dad over the weekend when his long-term girlfriend, Kelly Baldwin, gave birth to the couple's first child, according to the U.K. Web site Worldpop. The arrival of the little girl, whom they've named Brianna, will not affect 'NSync's U.S. tour plans. The band's management would neither confirm nor deny the report, claiming, "Joey asked us not to comment on this." The group is rehearsing in Orlando for the tour, which starts May 18 in Florida, and the forthcoming album, Celebrity, is due June 26 on Jive.

4/26/01-The following news came from two different people and I'm not sure whos right so I guess we will just have to find out.
*NSYNC Filming Video At Universal. At Universal Studios on Tuesday a lady that worked there said that 'N SYNC was filming a video that they show during the concert when they are getting dressed. They were dressed in 1920s clothes, and Lance still had black hair. They didnt have time for autographs but they let us take pics and they rode by in these golf cart things and waved to everyone.
*NSYNC has been at Universal Studio's for about two weeks. Just yesterday *NSYNC taped their newest music video for one of their new songs off of their upcoming album 'Celebrity.' The video is suppost to be in Black in White. The guys wore old clothes with hats. They taped it inside the theme park just like 'I Want You Back.' When taping they would dance to no music.

4/26/01-Tour Rehearsals In New Orleans. On local news in New Orleans last night they said that *NSYNC's crew was in the Superdome practicing putting the stage together for their Popodessey Tour. The band was supposed to arrive sometime this afternoon to begin rehearsing. They are going to be in New Orleans for five days before they begin touring.

4/26/01-Doesn't Justin Just "Feel" The Music? On today's episode of 'Days of Our Lives' there was a discussion on Nsync. Chloe and Susan were in Chloe's bedroom talking about how JC and Justin were really cute and how they think that Justin really 'feels' the words he sings.

4/26/01-Dude, How's My Hair? On a local classic rock music station 105.1, they did a fake news broadcast before the real news. The guy was saying something like, "Big news in the pop music world. *N Sync's Lance is starring in his first movie this summer...it will be called, 'Dude, How's My Hair?'"

4/26/01-*NSync Featured in Celeb TicTacToe. In the latest issue of American Girl Magazine there is a Celebrity TicTacToe!! A couple of people had Xs and Os on them, but luckily not Justin!! It's on page 21 for those who are looking for it.

4/26/01-*NSYNC Go Flip-Flop. At Wal-mart among other stores you can pick up *NSYNC sandals. They're pink and purple with *NSYNC written all along the edges. They only come in children sizes.

4/24/01-Where's 'N Sync? Search me, says Lycos. A day of mourning may have to be called for boy group 'N Sync. No, the members haven't broken up, but fans just don't seem to be searching for them the way they used to. As of today, they're no longer on Lycos' list of the site's 50 top searches, where they've resided ever since the list began in August 1999, says Lycos' Aaron Schatz. New on the list: manufactured boy band O-Town (No. 46). ''I fear for our culture,'' he says. But some terms never seem to lose favor. Marijuana, for example, gets 230% more searches than Viagra, Schatz adds.

4/24/01-FuManSkeeto Invades Toronto May 3. For those fans north of the border FuMan Skeeto invades Toronto on Thursday, May 3rd!!! Chris and the crew will be making appearances at Planet Hollywood, MuchMusic, at 4:00 PM and will be in Eatons for an introduction of the line at 5:30 PM. Be there if at all possible, because anytime Chris and the FuMan Crew are in town it's a blast. Plus you'll have your chance to finally get your hands on FuMan Skeeto gear, which is the best!

4/24/01-If The Album Sucks, Blame *NSYNC, On KISS FM they had a little clip of an interview with Lance. He talked about how almost all the songs on the CD are written by them, so if the album sucks then it will be their fault. Then he said that Celebrity will hopefully be out end of June OR early July, he said that they had to set back a lot of the tour dates because they weren't ready yet.

4/24/01-Lance attended the premiere of Josie & The Pussycats in Tampa, Fla. a couple of day aso. Did anybody see him???

4/22/01-*NSYNC appeared on the Nickelodean Kid's Choice Awards to taunt show host Rosie O'Donnell into sliming them, and after penetrating their 'force field' she eventually did.

4/21/01-The Star reports *NSYNC gave free tickets to 10 high-school girls who had bought fake tickets to their last show to a Beverly Hills charity event the band performed in. Celebs were shelling out $10-25 thousand for tables at the show.

4/21/01-Conan Gets *NSYNC for His Birthday. Conan O'Brien mentions *NSYNC in his monologue. This is actually what he said..."A snack food company has announced that they are coming out with a candy named after *NSYNC called *NSYNC Hot Hits...Apparently the *NSYNC candy hangs out with the Britney Spears candy but never gets inside her wrapper." One of Conan's guest's that night (Thursday 219th) was Carson from TRL. He came out and brought a present for Conan. When Conan opened the gift it was an *NSYNC Joey doll! Carson said later that maybe if Conan was lucky he's bring him the Lance doll for Christmas.

4/21/01-*NSYNC #1 Fan Christie? There are three different versions of the 'NSYNC fan doll. Each one comes as follows, they come with a single CD with one song. Each also comes with two collector UNO cards, Barbie(white)-ByeByeBye(Remix ), Justin and Joey UNO cards. Christie(black)-Its Gonna Be Me(Jack D Elliot Remix), Lance and group card. These are scans of what comes with Christie.

4/21/01-Access Hollywood Sends Congrats to Joey on New Arrival. On Access Hollywood yesterday they were talking about *N Sync at the Nick awards. After that segment, they said congrats to Joey Fatone, who is a father of a baby girl. Wasn't the baby due in June? The baby's name has not been released yet, but I heard it would be Brianna.

4/21/01-Samantha Mumba to Open For *NSYNC. Samantha will be going on tour with N’Sync and Eden’s Crush starting July 2nd! For Samantha's tour dates with 'N sync check the your page.

4/21/01-Monica Talks About Justin's Orginal Role in "Love Song."
You did an MTV film, "Love Song." Do you have any other acting plans?
Monica: I try to be optimistic. I try not to get into the mode where people only look at me as one type of artist or one type of actress, so the things I do I try to be really picky about. "Love Song" was actually written for me and ['NSYNC's] Justin Timberlake, and when he couldn't do it, I didn't see any reason why I couldn't. I'm auditioning for ["The O.Z."], which is the hip-hop version [of "The Wizard of Oz"]. I want to continue being a part of some things that were really unique. I'm definitely looking at everything.

4/21/01-Justin's Guest Appearance on Wayne Brady Hour. On April 19th on The Wayne Brady Hour, the guy from Who's Line is It Anyway, Wayne introduces Justin as well as Brian McKnight (Wayne spontaneously named themselves "the lopsided oreo" as the seating order went Justin, Wayne, and Brian, laughing Justin got up and looked to walk off stage but came back) and they do a little musical number about an oh-so-purple dressed woman in the audience singing and bringing up berries, Willa-Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and eventually the Oompa Loompas. Justin beatboxed and sang a bit as Wayne also sang and Brian sang and played the guitar. It was adorable. In a later skit, Wayne is an emcee at a karaoke bar and introduces what looks to be a country-going-truck-driving Brian McKnight who sings one of his own songs, but in a country voice. Wayne comments on him and Brian, with a frown, walks off to the set of tables. Then Justin comes up in ghetto fashion trying to pull off ebonics and requests track #42. As he starts singing, it turns out to be a white, preppy song and he starts hopping and dancing along. As he starts going, Wayne and Brian join him and start singing with Justin. Justin says "dance break" and breaks out his MC hammer moves and then grabs his leg and pulls it back, stops, and poses really quick, looking quite sexy, and they all continue singing until the camera pulls away.

4/20/01-PBS Frontline did a special this week on The Merchants of Cool and focused on MTV and TRL, quoting New York Times music critic Ann Powers as saying, "For the Backstreet Boys, for *NSYNC--whose image is all tied up with whether they're number one versus even number two, when number two is seen as a failure for an artist--that's a lot about TRL. The whole idea that you can sell so many millions of albums and still be considered kind of a flop, well, that's very much of this era and I think Total Request Live has completely intensified that." PBS will re-air the eye-opening special May 1st.

4/19/01-*NSYNC recently were in Los Angeles to do a cover shoot for Rolling Stone as the band will appear in the magazine when Celebrity is released late June.

4/18/01-MTV reports *NSYNC and Britney Spears will join Michael Jackson for a massive concert tribute at New York's Madison Square Garden on September 7th. The taped-nose one admitted, "I am very excited to celebrate my 30th anniversary as a solo artist with such a distinguished array of talent, friends and fans.

4/18/01-'N Sync, Backstreet Boys To Play 'Today' Concert Series. Destiny's Child, Ricky Martin, Sugar Ray, Shaggy, the Backstreet Boys, Jennifer Lopez, and 'N Sync are all scheduled to take part in NBC's sixth annual Today Summer Concert Series, which starts April 27. Today feature reporter and weatherman Al Roker recently shared with LAUNCH his thoughts on vocal-harmony pop groups like the Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync. "My 13-year-old, Courtney, said, 'So Dad, who do you think is better: 98 Degrees, the Backstreet Boys, or 'N Sync?' And of course my initial reaction is, 'There's a difference?' But, of course, you don't want to say that because then you're doing the same thing that your parents did to you, and then once you listen to them, yeah, they're all different, they're all good. It's interesting in that they all kind of take from, I think, rhythm-and-blues and hip-hop, and they kind of make their sound, and there you have it." Rod Stewart will kick off the outdoor performances on April 27, marking his first-ever appearance in the Today Summer Concert Series. Additional 2001 first-time performers include John Mellencamp and Neil Diamond. Multiple Grammy Award-winner Sting takes the stage for the third time in his career on May 4. 4/18/01-’N Sync boy’s Penney ways. Those ’N Sync boys are multimillionaires, but that doesn’t mean they have become all high falutin’ when it comes to outfitting their children. Joey Fatone’s girlfriend, Kelly Baldwin, recently gave birth to their daughter, Brianna. She’s registered for gifts at J.C. Penney and Babies ‘R’ Us. The folks at The Smoking Gun have located a list of gifts that the unassuming couple hope friends and relatives will buy for them. Among the choice items: a pair of terry cloth changing pad covers, which will set buyers back $25; Johnson’s baby wipes refills at $2.99 each; a lavender crochet dress with matching shoes and hat for $16.99; particularly deep-pocketed gift buyers might want to spring for the Comfortemp underarm thermometer $64.
“Something tells me that if Britney and Justin have a kid, he or she won’t be outfitted by Penney’s,” Smoking Gun’s William Bastone tells The Scoop. “Does Donatella Versace do an infant line?”

Jackson, who is celebrating 30 years as a solo artist, has asked musical giants 'N Sync, Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, and his famous brothers to perform at Madison Square Garden on September 7. Coincidentally, it was 'N Sync that inducted the "King Of Pop" into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame for his solo achievements in March. Other celebrities slated to perform include Jill Scott, Marc Anthony, and reggae singer Shaggy. Not only will the concert be Jackson's first in the U.S. since his Bad tour, but it will also mark the first time he's performed alongside brothers Tito, Jermaine, Jackie, Marlon and Randy--formerly of the Jackson 5 --since the mid-'80s. There has been no word as to whether or not sisters Janet or LaToya will perform or attend the bash. 4/16/01-Timberlake Gets Literary. He's been the subject of a handful of teen-targeted biographies, and now 'N Sync's Justin Timberlake will join girlfriend Britney Spears as a novelist. Timberlake has signed a deal with Ballantine Books to publish his first piece of fiction, Crossover Dribble, in what is reported to be a seven-figure deal. Publishers are keeping the details of the book's storyline under wraps, but it apparently centers on a professional basketball phenom (cheekily named Jason Windriver) trying to help his team win a championship. A publishing date has not yet been set for the book, nor is there any word as to whether Timberlake will be writing it by himself. Spears' novel, A Mother's Gift, was co-written by her mother, Lynne, and was published this month.

4/16/01-*NSYNC IMAX Film Out in Puerto Rico. For all the Nsync Fans in Puerto Rico, the Imax movie/concert "Bigger Than live" opens April 26th in Caribean Cinema, Plaza Las Americas. 4/16/01-TRL@Your House Re-Cap. On TRL @ Your House this weekend Nsync co-hosted the show with Carson. They were live via satellite from Orlando. They said that their LP titled "Celebrity" is going to be out in late June. They also said that the title 'Celebrity' is yet another mockery of the pop business. The single, as told by the boys, will be titled "Pop" and it will be out next month. And just to let you know Lances hair is now dark, it's for his movie 'On The L'.

4/16/01-Casting Calls for 'On the L'. There were rumors on KISS FM, that Joey and Lance were coming to Chicago this weekend (4/20-4/22) to shoot On The L. Online on the B96 website they said that they are holding auditions to be an extra Easter Sunday, Monday and Tuesday of this week. It also had information on how to auditon. Go check it out.

4/16/01-Lance Wants To Kick Joey Out? On MUCHMusic yesterday they had Lance on talking to someone about his movie, "On the L." They were joking around and Lance said something like, "Yeah, I think that we're going to kick Joey out...he's just messing around too much."

4/16/01-Report from Taping of Kid's Choice Awards. Yesterday 'N SYNC was taping the parts of "Kids Choise Awards". They taped it because they can't be in L.A next weekend because of their busy schedule. There was about 20 people in a crowd around them during some of the taping. They taped a part where if they won an award they would show that footage for their thanks you's. A fan who was at the taping said that JC's was a real big talker, she also had this to say. "They had an burping contest. Chris drank ,"Mountain Dew" to help him burp. Lance and JC drank "Pepsi". Joey drank "Dr. Pepper". Justin drank nothing and you know who won? JUSTIN! He's really good at it! Justin is the best burper NSYNCer." The point of them taping is that the people in L.A wanted to slime NSYNC and they didn't want to get slimed and NSYNC was trying to slime the people in L.A. Well, at the very end NSYNC got slimed. The fan also said that Justin kept on tap dancing. The show airs on April 21st so look out for 'NSYNC.

4/16/01-More On Justin's Book. This is a clip of a short article from this week's Entertainment Weekly:

"...'NSync heartthrob Justin Timberlake is tossing his own bejeweled jean jacket into the literary ring. Vigliano Associates has been circulating a proposal among New York publishers for a sports thriller to be penned by the 20-year-old song and dance sensation called Crossover Dribble. "The character is a white Michael Jordon - a basketball phenomenon," says an editor who passed on the book. The hero's name? Justin Woodriver. (Wood-river. Timber-lake. Get it? Of course you do.) Will he enjoy the same success as teh Spears duo? "His audience is girls and sports thrillers, which are a tough sell no matter how well they're written, are a boy's market," says another editor (who also passed.)"

4/14/01-Chris Kirkpatrick told MTV News' Chris Connelly at the Blockbuster Entertainment Awards that they are playing songs off the new album before it is released because, "It's kind of like we're being Napster on the road."

4/13/01-On the Set of 'On The L'. On Entertainment Tonight they were in Canada on the set of Lance and Joey's movie "on the L" and they interviewed the boys. The boys, of course, were joking around the whole time the interviews were going on. Lance threw a ball and hit joey in the head, it was pretty funny. also, lance said the soundtrack to the movie would have at least 2 nsync tracks, so look for that! Also, it is possible the whole band will make an appearance in the movie.

4/13/01-'NSYNC Tour Will Give Fans A Taste Of Celebrity. 'NSYNC will make the songs on Celebrity famous this spring, before the album even comes out. The pop stars say they'll be generous with music from the record during their upcoming tour, which kicks off more than a month before the LP's release. "It's kind of like we're being Napster on the road," Chris Kirkpatrick told MTV News' Chris Connelly at the Blockbuster Entertainment Awards on Tuesday. 'NSYNC's PopOdyssey tour gets underway May 18 at Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, while the follow-up to No Strings Attached (2000) hits stores on June 26. The boy band is scheduled to play 45 dates in 38 cities.
"We hope that everyone's not sick of us," Justin Timberlake said.
"Because I'm sick of us," Kirkpatrick said.
Timberlake, Kirkpatrick and Chasez attended the awards show without Lance Bass and Joey Fatone, who are in Toronto shooting the film "On the L."
In other 'NonSYNC news involving the boys, Timberlake said he recently met with Michael Jackson to discuss a possible collaboration. "I had a couple meetings with the man himself, and he's an extraordinary artist. He kicked me out of the meeting 'cause I wouldn't stop asking for autographs," Timberlake joked. "So I don't know how far it's going to go."

4/12/01-Casting Calls. Musicians have found that they can enhance their brand, and diversify their skills, by moving into motion pictures. Some, such as Mark Wahlberg, cross over completely and become bona fide movie stars.
Here are some sound stars who have recently joined the ranks of screen actors, their upcoming projects and release dates, when known:

* Aaliyah. Queen of the Damned, a vampire tale based on Anne Rice's novel; The Matrix 2 (Dec. 25, 2002), the sequel to the 1999 sci-fi hit.

4/11/01-'N Sync Leads Blockbuster Awards. Pop quintet 'N Sync cleaned up at last night's Blockbuster Entertainment Awards at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Pink and Nelly won the female and male awards for Favorite New Artist.

4/11/01-Matchbox 20 Snubs Potential Songwriting for *NSYNC. Matchbox Twenty lead singer Rob Thomas has delivered a snub to *NSYNC, claiming he turned down the chance to write a song on their new album. Thomas, who won a Grammy for Smooth, his collaboration with Santana, said, "When they came round and said, 'Let's write a hit,' I said, 'No thanks.' 'You try to do things that make you happy as opposed to things that are going to make you more money or bring you more press. I always try to take the happy route. 'more about me."

4/11/01-FuMan Fashion Show? On Entertainment Tonight last night they were talking about the Olsen twins having a fashion show on Fox Family. Then they started talking about other celebritys who have clothing lines and they mentioned Chris! He talked for a while and then showed a pair of really cool jeans with the Fu Man Skeeto logo on the back pocket."

4/11/01-*NSYNC added a THIRD show to their Giant's Stadium stop.

4/10/01-A novel idea for *NSYNC. *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake has just signed a seven-figure deal to write his first novel. It's pretty much unheard of for a young celeb to get that much with their first go at fiction. But Ballentine Books are banking on his millions of fans, and the Britney boyfriend connection, to boost sales. The book will be called 'Crossover Dribble', no plot details have been released as yet.

4/10/01-O-Town Issue Threat to *NSYNC. O-TOWN have issued a threat to *N SYNC, telling NME.COM that the boyband should be "pretty worried about shooting off their mouths". In an interview with NME.COM, Jacob from O-Town blasts *N Sync's Lance Bass for comments he made about O-Town. "I think it's really bold of him to open his mouth and start shooting off about us because he knows where we came from and we're working with the same people that put *N Sync together," he fumes. "I'm kinda worried that we might let out some secrets 'cos we've found out some stuff about how real or not real they are. I'd be pretty worried if I was him if he wants to keep shooting off his mouth."
"I think he was a lot safer when he was commenting on the people we were working with," Erik continues, "but he made a big mistake when he commented on us as a band. We're going to do things that are going to surprise a lot of people. I feel really bad when people have to eat their words."
Dan from the band adds: "I think we have just as many qualities as *N Sync, though we're not as big as them. They were put together and they didn't really have a reason to be put together; we did because we had a TV show. I think it's a double-standard for him to say anything."

4/10/01-Man arrested in N'Sync scam. He is accused of selling Fontana students and school employees tickets to a nonexistent concert.
A West Covina man accused of selling tickets at Fontana high schools to a nonexistent N'Sync concert has been arrested, officials said Friday. The man, Richard Allen Espinoza Jr., 31, was arrested on suspicion of grand theft Thursday after police and investigators served search warrants in Los Angeles and West Covina. Deputy District Attorney Glenn Yabuno said prosecutors expect to file three felony counts of grand theft Monday in the alleged ticket scam.
Espinoza, who claimed to be associated with the XFL, allegedly sold the $35 tickets at schools late last month, officials said. The ticket sales netted $15,000, said Fontana police Lt. Tim O'Connor. The tickets reportedly were purchased by as many as 400 students and school staff members, mostly at Fontana A. B. Miller High School. Officials allege that the man set up a table on campus to sell the tickets and admission to a dance he intended to hold. He had worked with the school's Associated Student Body groups and had showed them brochures for previous work he had done, O'Connor said. He "made it look more professional," he said.
When the dance was canceled, administrators took a closer look and discovered that 'N Sync was not scheduled to be in California on the date of the supposed concert, April 14. Police began investigating allegations of fraud and found that Arroyo High School in El Monte and Los Altos High School in Hacienda Heights also were victims.
Warrants were served at a home in Los Angeles and at Espinoza's business in West Covina, where he was arrested. He ran the business as the Los Angeles Football League and operated several promotional businesses from that location.
During the investigation, representatives of 'N Sync, the XFL and the Sharks semi-professional football team denied endorsing Espinoza. "They all denied ever knowing them," Yabuno said. "Nobody claims any affiliation with this person at all.

4/10/01-*NSYNC Take Charge in New Recordings. The boys of *NSYNC want to make it clear: They are in charge of their own recordings. When they release their album Celebrity on June 26, member Chris Kirkpatrick says it should be obvious who produced the record. "You'll hear the next level ... you'll hear our sound changing a bit but I think the most important thing is that we're sitting down and producing this album, were finding the musicians to play on the tracks that we've written," he says. "I think out of the eight to 10 tracks we've written, that we've done so far, two of them were done by other producers so the rest has all been done by us," adds Kirkpatrick.

The tour, now called Popodyssey (changed to one word,) will now kick off in Jacksonville, Fla., on May 18 instead of Miami on May 12 and wraps up on Aug. 22 in New Orleans instead of Aug. 18 in Memphis, Tenn., with many changes in between. 4/4/01-Famous Name for 'N Sync CD. 'N Sync's upcoming album, the follow-up to last year's commercially record-breaking No Strings Attached, which moved 2.4 million copies its first week in stores and over 10 million to date, will be called 'Celebrity,' a subject the group can certainly identify with. The album will hit stores June 26th, six weeks after 'N Sync kick off their spring/summer tour. Justin Timberlake, who talked to Rolling Stone three weeks ago from the studio, said that this album is going bring out a different sound from the group. "We tapped into a lot of different flavors," he said, crediting the presence of the Celebrity's several contributing producers, including Rodney Jerkins and the Neptunes, who have worked with No Doubt, Jay-Z and Mystikal. "I didn't think it was going to be this crazy," Timberlake continued. "Something keeps happening every time we put an album together that this vibe kinda kicks in. It's so intense, but it's a hell of a lot of fun."

4/4/01-Clinton, Ford top Family Celebration. Presidents Ford and Clinton, 'N Sync, Sylvester Stallone and the cast of Fox's "Ally McBeal" were all honored for their charity work Sunday night at the second annual A Family Celebration awards dinner and benefit concert.
"Whether you're in politics or business or the entertainment industry, one quickly discovers that the true measure of a well-lived life is not the legislation that you pass, the stock options that you exercise ... the weekly boxoffice receipts or even the Academy Awards that fill your resume," Ford said. "Rather, it's the family you love and the family that you are excited to live with."
Held in the ballroom of the Regent Beverly Wilshire, the evening raised almost $1.5 million for various charities and honored people for giving to their communities.
An informal popularity contest was waged between Clinton and 'N Sync, whose members received the Harmony and Spirit Award. Clinton, who received two standing ovations, scored big points when he joined legendary bluesman B.B. King onstage and played the saxophone to a screaming audience. 'N Sync had the support of shrieking girls, some of whom rushed onstage and danced with the band during their final song. During 'N Sync's performance, Linda Thompson, wife of the evening's musical director David Foster, had her cell phone on so her children at home could listen to the pop group sing, while actor James Marsden sneaked to the stage with a small camera to snap a photo.
Other performers included Marc Anthony, Ray Charles, David Foster, Dwight Yoakam and singers John Groban and Nia Whitaker. Presenters included Whoopi Goldberg, Suzanne Pleshette and Tom Poston. Philanthropist and underwriter of the night's dinner was Cynthia Gershman. The host was MTV's Carson Daly. Guests included Michelle Pfeiffer and David E. Kelley, Britney Spears, Sugar Ray Leonard, Kathy Griffith, Monty Hall, Florence Henderson, Rachel Griffiths and Tyler Mane.
Proceeds the benefit go to Alzheimer's Lakeway Program, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Challenge for the Children, Locks of Love, Starlight Children's Foundation and Wildlife Waystation, among others.

4/4/01-'N Sync's 'Celebrity' Arrives June 26. Just as word comes that advance ticket sales for 'N Sync's upcoming stadium tour aren't quite up to par with the boy band's last outing, Jive Records has announced a June 26 release for the act's forthcoming album, "Celebrity." The set will be released only 15 months after 'N Sync's "No Strings Attached" set a first week sales record by moving a whopping 2.4 million copies last March. Veteran rap producers the Neptunes (Mystikal, Jay-Z) lent the boys a helping hand in the studio, and fans should expect a first single before the group's tour kicks off May 12 at Miami's Pro Player Stadium. The album's release could give a much-needed sales boost to some of the tour's dates. As reported in the April 7 issue of Billboard, dates in Charlotte, N.C. (May 22) and Birmingham, Ala. (Aug. 7), have experienced lackluster sales. The tour will feature a rotating lineup of opening acts, including various combinations of BBMak, 3LW, Eden's Crush, Samantha Mumba, Dream, and Meredith Brooks. If "Celebrity" doesn't provide a sales spike for the tour, some dates may be moved indoors, or relocated to a different city altogether. "No Strings Attached" is No. 75 on The Billboard 200 in its 53rd week. After peaking at No. 5 last December, latest single "This I Promise You" dropped off The Billboard Hot 100 for the week of March 24.

4/2/01-'NSYNC to Release 'Celebrity' On June 26. 'NSYNC have titled their fourth album after something they know a lot about: Celebrity. The follow-up to last year's No Strings Attached — which sold a record-setting 2.4 million copies in its first week — is due June 26. Jive Records hopes to have a first single out by the end of April, a spokesperson said. Though there's no word on the title, it's promised to be an uptempo track. The group's members recently said their new album will dip into such genres as electronica, hard R&B, "straight-up dance music" and even country. 'NSYNC recorded material last month with production duo the Neptunes, who have worked with rappers Mystikal, Jay-Z and Ol' Dirty Bastard, R&B diva Kelis and pop-rockers No Doubt. 'NSYNC will kick off a summer tour on May 12 in Miami with television-born pop group Eden's Crush in tow. On Friday, the guys attended the Los Angeles premiere of the concert film Bigger Than Live.
