Magical Beanie V - Brian Gets His Wish

~*~*~*~PART THREE~*~*~*~

A phone ringing in the office woke AJ up. He slowly opened his eyes, taking in the surroundings, trying to figure out where he was. That was always routine with these guys, with all the travel they do, they never know if they are at home or on the road and then if on the road, what venue.

As AJ sat up and stretched his arms, he noticed that something looked different with Leighanne. She was sleeping on a couch on her side. Blinking his eyes several times, AJ finally realized that she was pregnant. He quickly held his hands out.

“Shit what the hell?” AJ sighed as he looked at the slender, manicured fingers. “I thought this fricken hex would be overwith when Brian wasn’t pregnant anymore.”

“AJ, shut up I’m trying to sleep,” Howie mumbled as he threw a magazine towards AJ.

“D! Wake up!” AJ urged.

A sleepy Howie opened one eye and looked at AJ.

“No, really, look at Leighanne!” AJ insisted.

Howie raised his head a bit and looked over at the top of Leighanne’s head. “Yep, she’s asleep AJ, like we should be,” Howie replied as he lowered his head back down and closed his eyes.

“Dumbass! She’s pregnant!”

Howie bolted upright on the couch. “Good, then the spell is broken!”

AJ stared at Howie.

“Oops, I guess it hasn’t been broken, why not?” Howie asked as he looked at AJ gesturing towards his breasts with the long fingernails.

“Do I look like a rocket scientist?”

“Okay, okay, what do we do now?” Howie asked.

Leighanne moaned, stopping AJ from trying to figure out their next step. Both Howie and AJ looked over at her.

“What are you guys smiling at?” Lee asked as she slowly focused her eyes on Howie and AJ.

“How does it feel to be finally pregnant?” AJ asked.

Lee was trying to register his question when she suddenly felt several kicks in different spots on her stomach. She quickly put her hand on her stomach and drew it back in shock.

“Oh my god!” she gasped. She tried to position herself to a setting position on the couch and was failing miserably. “Help me guys,” Lee cried out. She was not accustomed to this sudden change in her body.

Shocked, she kept staring down at her swollen stomach. “I’m huge and this is so uncomfortable, how could he have handled this?”

“His change was gradual, yours was instant, you didn’t have time to adjust Leighanne, just calm down,” Howie soothed.

“Gosh, if I’m pregnant, my god, what’s wrong with Brian?” She looked over at AJ. “Please go check on him, please!” She placed her hand on her stomach again as her nervousness affected the babies, causing them to move around more in her stomach.

As AJ dashed off towards the room where Dr. Gonzales kept Brian, his hair was flowing behind him.

“Damn shame it’s AJ,” Howie said under his breath.

AJ slowly opened the door to Brian’s room. He found him laying on a bed with the side rails drawn up, an IV going into his hand. Although he was no longer pregnant, he still had the extra weight he had gained during his “pregnancy” which was evident in his face and stomach.

AJ debated on whether to let Brian sleep or to wake him up. He decided to leave him alone since he hadn’t been feeling well and was probably still pretty sick. He quietly closed the door and walked back to the lobby, this time Dr. Gonzales was standing over Lee, a shocked look on his face.

“How can this be? I don’t understand this! This is against all logcial explainations,” the doctor shook he head as he stared at her stomach.

“Long ass story doc, just accept it, we have had to,” AJ replied. “By the way, Brian isn’t pregnant anymore either.”

“I received a call from Dr. Storm, they want Brian to meet him at the hospital in Venice,” Dr. Gonzales stumbled his reply, still trying to understand what was going on.

“Venice? Couldn’t they have chosen a closer hospital, like here?” AJ barked.

“Dr. Storm only has a license at that particular hospital,” Dr. Gonzales shot back.

“Okay, I’ll get the car pulled up then,” AJ replied.

“No, he is to go by ambulance, I have already called them,” the doctor replied.

The flashing lights out in front told the group that the ambulance had arrived at the office.

Only Howie and Leighanne were recognizable to the young EMT that was on the crew with the ambulance. She looked over at Leighanne.

“She’s the one to go to Venice?”

“No, back in room four,” the doctor pointed towards the rooms.

They wisked the cot towards the room. She was suprized to see Brian Littrell laying in the bed. She tried to keep her emotions in check.

“Why are we transporting again?” she asked her co-worker.

“Emergency appendectomy,” the paramedic answered.

“Why is he at an OB-GYN office?” she asked again.

“Maybe he had the attack while his wife was here getting checked out, how should I know!” The irritated male paramedic squawked as he nodded towards the bed, indicating that the cot needed to be moved closer.

Brian sleepily emerged from his drug induced slumber. His eyes widened as he saw the two people from the ambulance crew and instinctively he placed his hand ontop of his stomach.

He must have been moving it around too much, trying to figure out where the babies had gone because he noticed a frown come across the female EMT’s face.

“Are you in pain?” she asked.

Brian had to stop and think about that question before answering it. He wasn’t, he didn’t feel bad at all.

“Noo, I.. I f..feel fine,” he slurred.

The paramedic rubbed his shoulder. “Good, that’s good Brian.”

As the cot was being guided down the hall, Brian got a glimpse of Leighanne standing with Howie and AJ. She happily pointed towards her stomach. Relief washed over Brian. That meant to him that the babies were okay. Suddenly her face screwed up in pain and she let out a cry. Brian sat up and jumped off the cot, his knees buckled.

“Whoa, Mr. Littrell, you must lay down,” the paramedic stated as he grabbed Brian’s arm, stopping him from falling to the floor.

“Take Lee, not me!” Brian shouted. “I’m fine! Take her now please!” Brian begged.

“We’ll call for back up, now, please, you have to lay back down,” the female paramedic urged.

“NO!” Brian yelled as he yanked the IV out of his hand. “Take her now! She’s in labor!”

Dr. Gonzales was holding a lab slip in his hands. “He is fine, this is so weird, his WBC’s are down to normal levels again. This is so amazing, he was at 13,800 and it’s down to 8.7, I can’t understand this at all,” the doctor stated.

Howie and AJ helped Lee towards the cot. “Bri, go get some clothes on, we’ll take you to the hospital,” AJ stated.

Brian glanced down at the billowing hospital gown he was wearing.

“Who’s your OB doctor?” the male paramedic asked Leighanne as they place her on the cot.

“I... I don’t have one,” she breathlessly replied, the pains were getting intense and coming closer.

“It’s me,” Dr. Gonzales stepped up. “Take her to Tampa stat, I’ll meet you there Mrs. Littrell.”

Nick stared at Kevin’s back. He was growing tried of not knowing what was going on with Brian. The last the AJ told him was that he needed his appendix out. He had placed a call to the clinic and no one answered the phone. He would have started to pace the floor, but it was too hard for him to do so. Nick opted for eating a bag of potato chips to pass away his nervousness.

The phone rang, breaking Nick from his trance.

“Hello?”

“Nick, it’s me, D,” Howie started out.

“Thank god, someone! What’s going on?”

“Brian don’t need his appendix out anymore, it was some fluke or something,” Howie replied.

“So everything’s okay then? The babies are okay?” Nick pressed.

“Babies are fine, they’re on their way out any time now, we’re just waiting for the news,” Howie stated.

“Brian’s having the babies?!” Nick asked. His shocked voice startled Kevin, he turned around.

“No, Leighanne is, not Brian,” Howie replied.

“Whoa, whoa, wait a sec, what do you mean Lee?” Nick asked, his eyes narrowed.

“The hex converted and she went into labor, this is almost over Nick!” Howie said happily.

Nick looked down towards his feet. “My god I will be able to see the floor in front of me again?”

“Yep, but that also means one bad thing for you though,” Howie began.

“Bad? What the hell could be worse than this bullshit?” Nick asked.

“Any weight you gained as a result of this sticks,” Howie replied. “Brian’s gained close to 30 pounds and it stuck.”

Nick set the bag of chips on the endtable. “So, that’s not gonna be me.” He had no idea if he gained any weight during all of this, no scale could ever accomodate him. He decided not to worry about it, hell, ten pounds wouldn’t be bad compared to this 350 extra pounds, he thought.

“Okay, I’ll check back when the babies are born,” Howie promised.

“Okay Lee, we’re almost there, one more push,” Dr. Gonazales coached.

Brian stroked her sweaty hair and kissed her forehead. “Come on, baby, you can do this.”

Leighanne nodded and took a deep breath in. A tiny cry escaped into the room and the baby was wisked off towards a bed where seven people surrounded it and started checking it over.

“You have a son,” Dr. Gonzales said. “Now, Leighanne, you have to do this one more time, okay?”

“I’m so tired,” Leighanne protested.

“Come on, baby,” Brian coaxed, his eyes filled with tears of joy.

Leighanne took another quick gulp of air and tried her best. She could tell when she looked into Brian’s eyes when he pressed his forehead against hers that he was upset by seeing her in so much pain. She wanted this to be overwith so she could rest.

Suddenly, another shrill cry filled the room. Dr. Gonzales held up the red, squirming infant for Lee and Brian to see. “You have an angry little girl.”

“Aww, it’s okay sweetie,” Brian cooed.

After they were deemed healthy, the nurses brought both babies over to Leighanne and Brian, each one handed an infant.

“Names?” Brian asked as he beamed looking at the babies.

“Hey you’ve had more time to decide than I have,” Lee softly replied.

Brian winked. They waited until they were left alone in the room. “How about Hayden James and Haley Jo?”

Leighanne smiled. “I love you, babe.”

It had been over 13 months since the babies were born. Brian had sucessfully lost all the weight he had gained from the pregnancy and Nick sitll had a stubborn twenty pounds to lose out of the sixty he had packed on. They were gearing up for a new tour and Brian was definately torn about leaving his family.

“Brian? Is this box okay to go out to the curb?” Leighanne asked as she held the box of stuffed toys from the spare bedroom.

Brian took the box from her hands. He recognized it as the one containing the hexed toy. “Don’t say a word, don’t breathe, don’t move.”

“What the heck is your problem?” Lee called out after Brian as she watched him practically run to the end of the driveway.

Behind her, Haley screamed as Hayden was pulling a beanie toy from her grasp.

The End?
