Chapter Fifteen

Warning!

From this point on the context of this story is going to become racier and include a lot of sexual content. Reader discretion is advised.

It seemed like they were kissing forever: making up for all those lost moments that should have been filled with delicate kisses and tender touch, but none of that mattered now. What was important now was that they made up for all that lost time with the present.

They continued to kiss as if time had stopped just for them when they heard a loud, slightly drunk voice come from the house.

“Finally! It’s about God damn time!”

It was Justin. JC and Lexi smiled as their lips finally parted and looked in Justin’s direction.

“Finally?” Lexi asked with a smirk on her face.

“We’ll talk about that later,” JC said quickly.

“Yeah!” Justin said as he sauntered towards the two lovebirds, “He’s liked you for loooooong time now. I’m so glad you’re finally together!! I love you guys!”

Justin hugged JC and Lexi and laughed.

“Where’s Lindsey! We need to share the love! Lindsey!” Justin yelled toward the house, “I need my girlfriend out here so we can ALL feel the love!”

JC laughed at his befuddled friend and said, “Well, Justin, I think we’re gonna head home.”

“So soon? But it’s only a little after midnight,” Justin said with one arm around Lindsey.

“Yeah, I know, but we’re still tired from our trip. I’ll see ya later.”

“Bye, Justin,” Lexi said as she gave him a hug. “Awesome party, but I’m not at all surprised.”

Justin laughed and hugged Lexi back. “Bye, Lex.”

Lexi walked away with Lindsey talking to allow JC to say goodbye to Justin.

“You better call me later, JC. I wanna here everything!”

“Yeah, I’ll be sure to call you tomorrow when you’re more…stable.”

JC and Lexi walked to her car and they got in. Lexi started to drive home. The car was filled with comfortable silence. They reached a red light, and Lexi asked again, “Finally?”

“Yeah…I tell Justin everything, and I’ve kind of felt this way for a while…”

“Really?” Lexi asked trying to hide her surprise.

“Yeah.”

“Well, I’ve kinda felt the same way for a while too. I was just afraid to tell you because…”

JC cut her off with a kiss. As his hand gently touched her face and the back of her neck, he thought about how happy he was that she shared the same feelings the entire time. Their “moment” was interrupted, yet again, by the honking of horns behind them: the light had turned green and they hadn’t noticed. Lexi pushed on the gas, and soon they were entering the gate of Palm Springs.

Lexi pulled into JC’s driveway not knowing what was going to happen. Should she go inside? And if so what would happen inside? So he and Lexi walked to his front door, and JC unlocked it and said, “Would you like to come inside?”

“Sure.”

They went in, and JC proceeded to turn on a few lights. “Go ahead and sit down in the living room. I’ll be right in,” he said.

Lexi walked into the living room, removed her jacket and sat down on the ever so familiar black, leather sofa. A few moments later JC came in with a bottle of white wine and two glasses.

“I figured we didn’t do much drinking at the party, so here we go. Do you like white wine?”

“Yeah,” Lexi answered, “But I prefer tequila shots.” JC laughed as he poured the wine. He handed Lexi a glass and said, “I never got a chance to say this, but Happy New Year.”

“Happy New Year.”

They clanged glasses and took no more than a sip of their wine then began to kiss, and this time there was nothing there to interrupt them. Their kisses became more passionate and eventually they were lying down on the sofa. Lexi began to unbutton JC’s shirt and JC’s hand went to the back of Lexi’s dress.

Lexi thought that this might be another dream, but it wasn’t. They wanted to be like this forever and definitely wanted to go further, but as if they were reading each other’s minds they stopped, looked at each other, and slowly sat up.

“This is a little bit too fast,” Lexi said softly.

“Yeah…”

“I mean I want to, but…”

“No, I know. I feel the same way. We can’t do everything in a period of two hours!”

They weakly laughed as they got themselves situated. They felt like they wanted more, but they couldn’t jump into sex this soon. That’s not the way they wanted it to happen.

“Well, I think I should go home.”

“Yeah, I think that’s a good idea.”

JC walked Lexi to her car. He gave her soft kiss on the lips and closed he car door after her. He watched as whom he believed to be the love of his life back out of the driveway, and he waved goodbye as his heart melted with joy. He couldn’t believe it: they were finally together.
