When JC walked into his condo he dialed Justin’s number. He’s told his fellow group members about Lexi, and they’ve all met her. However Justin is the only one who JC to about Lexi in detail.
“Hey, what’s up, Curly.”
“Hey, JC. How’s it goin’?”
“Nothin', but guess who’s coming over tomorrow night?”
“Tyra Banks?” Justin guessed excitedly.
“No, better. Lexi.”
“For real? That’s great! So I’m assuming that you finally told her how you feel, right?”
“Not quite. She’s coming over to work on a song.”
“Awww, man! You’ve liked her for so long! You need to tell her…”
“I was going to until she told me that she broke up with her boyfriend.”
“What! That’s crunk! That should’ve been even more of a reason to ask her out!”
JC sighed. “I know, but when she told me the details of her break up I realized that it wasn’t the time.”
Justin thought for a moment. “So…when are you going to tell her?”
“I dunno, man. I’ll know when I know, I guess.”
“So you’re on the rebound already! Huh, Lexi!” Nicki said sitting on Lexi’s bed.
“That’s not what it is. I’m just going over his place to work on a song he’s written. Besides, I don’t think he likes me like that anyway,” Lexi responded looking at a real estate guide. (Lexi’s been looking for a place of her own for quite some time now, but she hasn’t been able to find what she’s really wanted: a condo!)
“Oh c’mon, Lexi. He’s already like your best friend. You see him at least twice a week, and you eat lunch with him constantly! He’s more of a boyfriend than that asshole Matt was!”
Lexi shot Nicki a look. “That’s not true, Nic. In the beginning Matt was great, but he just changed over time…”
“Yeah, whatever,” Nicki interrupted. “All I know is that tomorrow night you’re going over a hot guy’s house at 7pm – perfect date time- to ‘work on music’. I’m gonna believe what I want.”
“Ok, ok…” Lexi said laughing at her friend.
“So are you guys eating?” Nicki asked.
“What do you mean, eating?”
“The final and true sign of a date is a meal of some kind. Are you guys eating?”
“Ha!” Lexi said. “We’re not eating, therefore that gives you even more proof that it’s not a date!”
Nicki rolled her eyes. “So,” Nicki said changing the subject, “Have you found a place yet?”
“No, not yet. I’m going out on Friday at three to look at a couple condos. Hopefully I’ll get lucky.”
“Oh, I think you’ll get lucky tomorrow tonight!” Nicki said sarcastically.
Lexi threw a pillow at Nicole’s head, but missed.
“Shut up, Nicki!”
