Chapter 15

On my way over to their house, I broke down in tears. I knew that I couldn’t go face them like that, so I went back home and grabbed my CD player. Once I got back outside, I decided to go take a walk down the road, maybe the walk would help cool me down a bit.

After walking up and down this dirt road with my CD player blasting, I decided that it was time to go face the Hansons. As I walked closer to their house, I go the picture that they weren’t home. So, I decided to walk in their backayrd and sit on the familer brown swing which was under this big oak tree. I sat there for awhile just swinging back and forth, and pretty soon I feel asleep.

When I woke up the bright sun was beating down on my face and it seemed much later then what it really was. I looked around and saw that Mr. Hanson was cutting the grass on the other side of the yard. I was wrong about Mr. Hanson being the only one home because as I looked at the back door I saw Isaac walking out towards me with glasses in his hand.

“Im glad that your up” he said coming closer handing me one of the glasses. “Its cherry Kool-Aid, thats all we have to drink.”

“Its fine.” I said looking up at the sky as he took a seat near me. “How did you know I was out here?”

“Well, when I got home I saw you sleeping out here, so I came and sat by you. Then you started to mumble that you were thristy, so I went and got some drinks, and here we are now.”

‘Oh, so I guess that Taylor told you and the rest of your family.”

“Actaully, Taylor hasn’t been around. What would he be telling me?” asked Isaac with a worried expression on his face.

“Okay, then I’ll tell you.”

“Haley, you can tell me anything.”

“Alright...Im moving back in with my brother...today.” I really thought that he would be all shocked, but he wasn’t.

“I kinda figured that, since you didn’t come back yesterday.”

“I don’t want to leave.” I said with tears starting to form in my eyes. I tried to hold them back but it was useless.

“It’s okay, I don’t blame you for leaving the other day.” he said giving me a hug.

I just leaned my head on his shoulder and cried on him. He keep on saying that everything would be alright, and that his parents would understand everything. Surprisingly, I believed Isaac, its funny how he was still there for me after all the crap that I put him through.

Isaac finally let go of me and we just stared into each others eyes. I have no idea what was going through either of our minds, but as I looked into thoes dark brown eyes everything seemed to be okay for that brief second. Then, before I knew what was happening he leaned in closer to my face and gently brushed his lips against mine. Instead of pulling away or slapping him I just kissed him back. For that one minute it felt like we weren’t even there on that bench, but when it was over there was just the oddest silence.

I turned my head so that I wasn’t facing him, “Lets just forget that ever happened.”

“Good idea.” said Isaac getting up and walking back towards the house.

“Yeah” I said to myself. I just sat there in complete shock. That was not supposed to happen. When I agreed to move in with the Hansons I promised myself that I would never...kiss one of them. This was not supposed to happen!
