"WHAT?" she asked, whirling around in her seat. Justin's eyes widened in shock at her rudeness.
"Um, are you alright?"
"Uh, yeah, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell."
Justin shook his head, and smiled weakly. Turning back around, Aubrey found Jessica's brown eyes burning into her own green ones, questioningly.
"What's the matter with you?" she inquired worriedly.
Aubrey sighed, exasperated, and tried to concentrate, as her teacher began the lesson. It proved impossible, her mind was just overflowing with worries. She was falling in love with Justin, but she was sure he felt differently. He seemed to be in LUST, if anything. That was all he seemed to be interested in, about her. But that wasn't the only thing on her mind. There was something else, something that had been torturing her mercilessly ever since last night. She tried, unsuccessfully again, to clear her mind. The time ticked by slowly, as the teacher rambled on about something, although she didn't know what. Finally, the bell rang, freeing her. Quickly, she gathered her books, and left the class, leaving Justin and Jessica behind, confused.
Later that night, Justin was in his room, trying to figure out what could be wrong. "Is she mad at me?" he wondered sadly. "I wonder if I'm pushing her too fast." He knew he'd never worried about another girl like this, and still it was impossible to admit to himself that he was falling in love. He decided he had to spend less time with her, to figure out what was going on in his head. He had to be away from her, as much as it tore him up not to be with her.
In her room, Aubrey was doing her homework when she heard the phone ring. She ignored it, figuring her parents would get it.
"AUBREY! Jess is on the phone for you!" her mom shouted down the hall.
"Alright!" Aubrey replied, picking up her phone.
"Alright, mom, I'm on." She heard a click as her mom hung up the other phone.
"Hello?" she said.
"Hey, it's Jess."
"I know," she replied, "what's up?"
"Aubrey, I KNOW something was wrong with you today. Just tell me. I want to help." Aubrey hesitated, and then finally let all her worries spill out.
"Jess, you know me and J have been, you know..."
"Yeah?" Jessica interrupted.
"Well, I think I love him."
"I know you do, Aubrey, what's wrong with that?" Jessica replied gently.
"Jess, he doesn't love me back. He can't. All he wants is..." Aubrey started, unable to finish.
"I bet you he does, how could he not? You're VERY pretty, you're the nicest person I know, and you're SO much fun to be around." Jessica reassured her friend.
"I don't know...but that's not all."
"Well, what else is wrong?" Jessica asked.
"Um,well...I'm so scared." Aubrey whispered.
"Why, babe? What's wrong?" Jessica asked quickly, the worry sounding in her voice.
"I think I may be pregnant, Jess. What am I gonna do?"
