"Hello?"
"Um, yeah, is Aubrey home?" he asked quickly.
"Sure, hold on a sec." The man answered him politely.
Justin waited nervously, for her to pick up. No girl had ever made him this nervous, but then again, no girl was quite like her. She didn't hang all over him, and chase HIM around, like he was used to. HE had to pursue the girl, this time.
"Hello?" she said, in her sweet voice.
"Hi Aubrey, this is Justin." After a long silence, she said "Justin WHO?"
He felt really stupid for a moment, thinking she had forgotten who he was, when she suddenly started laughing.
"I'm just kidding. What's going on?"
They talked for a while, and finally Justin got up the nerve to ask what he'd called to ask her.
"Um,I was wondering if you wanted to do something with me tomorrow. We could maybe go to the football game, and get something to eat, and then just come back to my house and hang out or whatever."
"Maybe, if you're lucky." she said, giggling, "No, just kidding, that'd be cool."
He smiled at her teasing reply, and told her he was glad. That was one of his favorite things about her, she could make any situation easier, with her crazy, funny personality. He knew he'd always be having fun if he was with her. They kept talking, and she admitted she thought he was cute, and he told her the same. This led to conversation about relationships, and they both confessed that they weren't interested in commitment, just having fun. By the time they got off the phone, he couldn't wait to see her the next night.
"Well, I guess I should go, I have alot of homework, but I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" Justin told her.
"Alright, call me again some time."
He agreed, and hung up. He started his homework, but kept thinking about Aubrey, and never did get much done. Finally, he got into bed, and fell asleep, thinking about what might happen the next night.
