Can't Fight The Feeling Chapter Seventeen

Yawning, Justin slowly opened his eyes. Right away, he felt a pounding pain in his head. He looked around.

"Joey, where the heck.." he started, and looked over. He saw a girl next to him. He realized it was the girl from the night before. He groaned when he realized what had happened. He jumped up, and got dressed quickly.

Makayla rolled over, and opened her eyes. "Hey baby." she said, stretching.

Justin glared at her, and pulled on his shoes. "You knew I was drunk. Can't you find anything better to do?" he asked, angry at his own actions.

She jumped up. "If you're gonna act like such a jerk, why don't you leave?" she yelled.

He looked at her cynically. "Uh, yeah, that's what I'm doing." He walked outside, and realized he had no car. He almost went back to use her phone, but knew it was a bad idea. He was gonna walk to a pay phone, when he heard a kid giggling and squealing loudly. He started down the sidewalk, and right in front of him, a ball rolled across his path, and into the road. Justin was about to walk out and get it, when he heard a car approaching. He stopped, and then heard a man's voice.

"STOP, Ryan, NO!" Justin looked forward, and saw a little boy running after the ball. He realized he was going to run right in front of the car. Justin rushed to the little boy, and quickly grabbed him, just before he entered the path of the car. Right away, a young dark-haired man pulled the little boy away from Justin. He hugged the boy tightly.

"Thank you SO much. Thank you!" he shouted, and shook Justin's hand.

"No problem." Justin said, breathing heavily. "Is this your son?" he asked.

The man looked at him blankly. "Oh no. My name's Josh. You can call me JC."

Justin smiled. "I'm Justin, you can call me Justin." JC laughed, and asked him to come inside for a while.

"Actually that'd be nice. Could I use your phone? I need to call for a ride."

JC nodded. "Sure if you want. But I'd be glad to give you a ride. It's the least I can do."

"You know what?" JC began, watching Justin playing with Ryan on the floor.

"He reminds me of you. You two could be related. I swear, look at the hair, and your eyes. Even your smiles are similar." Justin laughed, and noticed the little boy did have curly blonde hair. Suddenly the doorbell rang.

"That must be Aubrey. That's Ryan's mom. She'll be so happy to meet you." JC said, and practically ran to the door. Justin was shocked at the mention of Ryan's mother's name, but figured it was probably a coincidence. He listened as JC explained everything that had happened. JC led her to the living room, and introduced them.

"Aubrey, this is Justin, Justin, this is Aubrey." he said. They shook hands, and Aubrey thanked him. Neither one mentioned the fact that they already knew each other. Aubrey thought maybe he didn't recognize her. She nervously thanked him again, and quickly left with Ryan.
