Making the Video- For The Girl Who Has Everything

Authors Note- This is my little 'it's boring so I think I'll write about my favorite guys' story. Takes place on 'For the Girl Who Has Everything' island, hence the name. I added a few missing scenes; this is basically a story of how the song and video came about.

~>~>~>~>

Darkness. Cold.

That's the last thing the guys from Nsync remembered as the small plane plummeted down. The small, private plane had been flying to Europe when a hurricane hit.

Down they fell, hitting the ocean like a ton of brick. The pilot had been killed on impact, while his passengers fought for their lives. After a relentless kicking, the door finally opened, releasing the men into the cold, dark waters. They swam for their lives, not knowing where they were going. The wind tossed them about, playing with their exhausted bodies until they gave up and surrendered to unconsciousness.
~>~>~>~>

The next morning, members awoke to find themselves washed on shore. The sun was beating down, and the tide that had brought them here was now nipping at their feet. Slowly, each of them was pulled out of unconsciousness.

"Oh, man," J.C. groaned, rolling on his back.

"Well, look who's up," Lance announced from where he was sitting beside J.C.

"Morning sunshine," Justin teased as he walked over and sat between them. "So how was your night?"

"Don't even start with me, kid," J.C. replied. "I don't think I could even move to pound you."

They were interrupted as Joey woke up, disoriented. "Where am I? What happened?"

"We're on some island," Lance said. "Because we crashed."

"Really?" Joey asked, squinting at his friends who were about 10 feet away. "You don't remember?" Justin asked.

"No. The last thing I remember is singing at a concert."

"God, Joey, that was three days ago! Are you serious?" Lance asked, concerned.

"I swear! All I know is that I have a killer headache and my hole body hurts."

"He's probably got amnesia," J.C. mumbled to Lance and Justin as he tried to sit up.

"Will he be okay?" Justin asked, eyeing Joey.

"Yeah, there's nothing we can do now anyway. Hey- where's Chris?"

The three looked around and spotted a body about 50 feet off, laying face down. "Chris!" J.C. yelled as they all struggled to their feet. He felt his stomach feel a knot of dread as they weakly ran towards the still figure.
"Come on buddy," J.C. said as he rolled Chris over on his back. He placed two fingers on Chris's throat and felt for a heartbeat. "He's alive," J.C. announced with a proud smile.

"Why isn't he awake?" Lance asked, worriedly.

"I don't know. Chris!" J.C. called as he lightly slapped his friend. "Come on, rise and shine!"

Nothing.

"Chris, come on now, you're starting to scare me!"

"He's not breathing!" Joey said as he pointed to Chris's still chest.

"Oh. God," J.C. said as he watched for the rise and fall of his friend's chest.

"Okay, well do CPR. Lance, you hold your hands like this and push 5 times, then wait ten seconds and do it again, okay?"

"Got it," Lance said as he got on his knees beside J.C. and crossed his hands over Chris's heart.

"Okay, go."

Lance and J.C. worked, Lance pushing and J.C. breathing into Chris. After a few minutes, Chris came too, coughing up water.

They all breathed a sigh of relief as J.C. placed a hand on Chris's heaving shoulder. "I almost thought we lost you," he smiled.

"Lose me? Never," Chris said between coughs.

Once Chris was under control, Lance said, "Well, now that we're all here, how are we gonna get off this island?"

"Well I guess we need to look around," J.C. answered, helping Chris up.

"Fine with me," Joey said as the rest of them stood up too.

"So where are we?" Chris asked as they walked along the beach.

"On an island," Justin teased, rolling his eyes.

"You think?" Chris mocked, chasing Justin in the water.

"Get away from me!" Justin laughed.

"But I love you man!" Chris teased as they chased each other in the water.

"Boys will be boys," Lance mumbled as he watched them.

"So what exactly am I missing?" Joey broke in.

"Not much," J.C. replied. "The day after the concert we went to a photo shoot, then we spent the rest of the day traveling."

"And- should we tell him?" Lance asked, winking at J.C.

"Tell me what?"

"Oh, uh," J.C. said, realizing Lance wanted to trick their friend. "Nothing really."

"Tell me what?" Joey demanded.

"You announced on national television that you were gay," Lance said.

Joey's eyes bugged out and his mouth dropped open. "Really?"

Lance and J.C. cracked up. "No!" J.C. laughed.

"Oh. Don't do that to me man!" Joey replied, shoving Lance into the water.

"Hey!" Lance yelled as he cracked up, reaching for J.C.

Then Chris pushed Justin into Lance, knocking them all down. They all started laughing and began chasing each other and falling in the water.

Then they saw the suitcases stranded in the rocks.
~>~>~>~>~> pt.2

"Hey, woah, cut it out for a minute!" Lance yelled from where he sat in the water.

The rest of the group looked up and saw what Lance was staring at. There, floating in the water against some rocks, were three suitcases.

"Is that my suitcase?" Justin asked as he got off Chris.

"I think so!" Lance replied as they ran over to investigate.

When they reached the three suitcases, they saw that two were theirs, and one, the biggest, they had never seen before.

They pulled the suitcases out of the water and onto the sand to inspect them.

"Man, all this stuff is wet!" Justin groaned.

"Good job, detective," replied J.C. as he started to open the trunk.

After searching the contents of his bag, Lance announced, "Well I have a razor, aspirin, a bunch of band aids, and other stuff from the bathroom. I guess I know what you guys use me for," Lance sighed.

"Well, maybe you should pack your own bag instead of going out with Joey all night and making me and Chris do it," J.C. replied as he tried the lock on the trunk.

"We were out? Where'd we go?" Joey asked.

"Dumb ass, you don't know where you were last night?" Chris teased, receiving a hurt look from Joey. "What?" he asked, looking around.

"He's got amnesia, dumb ass," Lance mocked.

"Oh, God man, I'm sorry," Chris apologized, placing a hand on Joey's shoulder.

"You do got a nasty bump there," Chris noted, seeing the huge, deep purple bruise on the side of his side of his friend's head for the first time.

"'sokay," Joey mumbled.

"You were out clubbin' as usual," J.C. said, still pulling on the trunk.

"I got a bunch of clothes and shoes and the water guns from the show," Justin announced, digging through his drenched duffel bag.

"So that's where…they…went-" J.C. strained, pulling with all his weight on the trunk.

"You need some help with that?" Lance asked.

"Would you mind?" J.C. asked sarcastically as he sat on the sand, disgusted.

Lance stood up and walked over to the trunk, opening it easily. "There ya go. Anything else, Hercules?"

J.C. rolled his eyes as he got up and went over to inspect the trunk with Lance.

"This defiantly isn't ours," Lance said as he pulled out a white dress.

"Joey? Is there something you need to tell us?" Justin teased, smiling.

Joey shot him a look and asked, "Where'd it come from? Is there someone else on this island?" .

"I doubt it. We probably would have seen sign by now," J.C. said. .

"What else is in there?" Chris asked, not getting up from where he was sitting beside Joey. .

"Let's see," Lance said, digging through the trunk. "There's some dresses, jewelry…stuffed animals, ooh- wine…this girl has everything!" .

"Why would someone have wine in their trunk?" Justin asked. .

"Who cares?" Chris asked, getting up and walking over to the trunk. He took the bottle out of Lance's hands and said, "Let's party!" .

"Hey, we can't get drunk, we're shipwrecked!" Lance said, taking the bottle back. .

"Plane wrecked," Joey interrupted. .

"Yeah, whatever," Lance mumbled. "Hey, you remember?" .

"Just a couple of things," Joey said. "About the crash." .

"Well that's a start," J.C. replied as Lance got up, walked to the water, and prepared to throw in the bottle. .

"What are you doing? We could use that to try to get help. You know, message in bottle sort of thing," Joey said, grabbing the bottle from Lance. .

"Well can't we enjoy it first?" Chris begged, following the bottle closely. .

"No," Joey said. "If we're gonna drink anything, it should be water," he said, shaking the bottle behind his back. .

"We're on a freakin' island!" Chris argued. .

"Salt water!" Lance yelled back. "Ring a bell, Mr. Graduate? You should know, you drank half the ocean!" .

"Oh, well excuse me! God, you're stupid!" Chris shouted back. .

"Ha! Me? That's a good comeback! You know-".

Lance was interrupted by Joey, who sprayed the shaken wine all over them. "Will you guys cool it?" he asked, laughing. .

The others moved to get out of the stream of foam as Joey poured the rest out on the sand. .

"Hey guys!" J.C. said as he reached into the trunk. "Look what else was in here!" He smiled as he pulled out a camera. "Smile!" he said as he took a quick picture. .

The rest of the guys gathered around J.C. as they waited for the snapshot to develop. As it lightened, it revealed a picture if the guys running as Joey sprayed them with wine. .

"Hey, why don't we take a picture of ourselves and send it in the bottle," Justin volunteered. .

"Why not?" J.C. said. "Maybe it'll speed up our rescue." .

The guys fell into their usual photo shoot positions and J.C. held up the camera and took their picture. After it developed, they found a marker in the trunk and wrote on the back, 'For the girl who has everything,- Help!' .

While Joey, J.C., and Lance rolled up the picture, put it in the bottle, and threw it in the ocean, Chris and Justin began to gather the bags and pull them towards the woods, about 50 feet off the shore. .

It took both of them to pull the trunk, and once they had it where they wanted it, they sat against some trees and watched the others. They started laughing as J.C. and Lance pushed Joey into the water. .

Justin never heard the soft hissing of the snake behind him- never saw the flickering of the tongue as the snake rose in self-defense….
~>~>~>~> Email pt. 4.

As Justin leaned back laughing, he felt something sting him on the shoulder. "Ow! What the-" He turned around just in time to see a long black tail slither into the bushes. .

Knowing the trouble he might be in, he groaned, "Oh, man." .

"What?" Chris asked, looking concerned at Justin. .

"Snake," Justin said, rubbing his throbbing shoulder. .

"Did you see it?" Chris asked, jumping up. .

"Yeah, it was black," Justin replied. .

"Hey guys!" Chris called. Then he moved behind Justin and said, "Take your shirt off." .

Justin did as he was told, and looked up to see the others approaching. He could barely feel Chris feeling the bite over the throbbing. The guys approached, with questioning looks and Chris told them, "He's been bit by a snake." .

"Was it poisonous?" Lance asked, searching the line of trees. .

"I don't know, but it hurts like hell," Justin replied. .

"Can you get up?" J.C. asked. "We got to get away from the trees." .

"Yeah, my legs work fine," Justin said, getting up. .

The rest of the group watched wearily as Justin walked away and sat about 10 feet away. .

He looked behind him and saw the others staring at him. "Guys, I said I'm okay! It just hurts. You know that saying that says how more people are hit by lighting then killed by snakes?" They remained where they were as Justin added, "Or something like that?" .

"Okay, fine," J.C. said as they started over to Justin. "But tell us the second you don't fell right, okay?" .

"Yeah, sure," Justin said, adding a smile. "In the words of someone great, 'Lose me? Never.'" He began putting his shirt back on as Lance spoke up. .

"We should go look for things we can use to build a shelter." .

"Sounds good to me. We should stick together, in case something happens," J.C. agreed. .

"You up for traveling?" Chris asked Justin. .

"Ah said I'm fine!" Justin repeated, standing up and brushing the sand off. .

The guys started walking down the shore a little while, then headed into the woods. They all followed Chris's movement of picking up a big stick and beating the bushes around him as he walked, looking for snakes. .

Suddenly, a red parrot flew up beside Lance, bushing him with its wings. Lance jumped back, then got tangled in vines and fell. .

The guys doubled over in laughter as Lance fought his way back to his feet. "What the hell was that?" he yelled, annoyed. .

"A parrot," J.C. laughed. .

"It's not funny," Lance mumbled as he began walking again, leaving his hysterical friends behind. .

Soon, Chris ran to catch up. "Hey, you know we're laughing with you, right? I mean, I can see why you'd be scared of a bird, all those soft feathers and all." .

"Shut up, okay? How was I suppose to know what it was?" Lance defended. He could feel himself turning red with embarrassment and anger. .

"Always thought you were a little bird brained," Chris pressed. "Guess you're programmed for flight instead of fight! Do you like crackers? Hey, I know-".

Chris was cut off as Lance spun around and landed a hard punch to Chris's cheekbone. Chris stumbled back, then regained his balance, raising his hand to his face as the others came up behind him. Chris turned his soft brown eyes to Lance and asked quietly, "What was that for?" .

Lance approached with a look of regret. "Look, I'm sorry. I just don't feel like putting up with your crap right now, okay? What if we are stuck here forever?" .

"I'm sorry," Chris said, rubbing his cheek. "I didn't know you'd take it so hard." With that, he walked off, not bothering to look for snakes. .

"Is this a mutiny?" Justin asked. .

"Lance, now is not the time to get upset. We're going to be found. The plane had one of those tracking things on it," J.C. said. .

"If we don't starve first," Lance shot back. .

"That's why were out here!" J.C. said. "To look for food!" .

"Where are you going?" Justin asked as Joey crept away. .

"I'm going after Chris. I'm gonna talk to him before he does something stupid," Joey mumbled as he walked off, still using his stick to look for snakes. .
~>~>~>~>~> pt. 5.

Chris continued walking blindly through the woods, his hurt pride clouding his function to think clearly. He always teased the guys, why did Lance freak out? They were going to get off the island, right? Someone will save them.

He continued thinking as he unconsciously picked his way through the jungle. Then the forest stopped abruptly and cleared to reveal a small river and a waterfall. .

"Cool," Chris said to himself as he stopped to take in the beautiful scene. He then realized how thirsty he was from all that saltwater having been in his lungs and stomach. He knelt down at the river's edge and cupped some of the cool water in his hands. He took a drink carefully at first, and then deciding it was safe, rank several handfuls. .

After quenching his thirst, Chris leaned back against a moss-covered tree. He closed his eyes, hoping to will this nightmare away and open his eyes at home, wherever that might be. He felt someone sit down beside him, then heard Joey ask, "Is this spot taken?" .

"No," Chris replied, not opening his eyes. .

"Lance can throw a good punch, can't he?" Joey asked, noting the purple bruise on Chris's cheek. After getting no response, he realized his attempt at a joke had fallen flat. "Look, Chris, just ignore Lance. He's scared we're gonna die here. But the plane was being tracked, they'll find us soon." .

"I know. It's just that you guys are like my brothers, you know? And I bet that if my dad were still here, he'd be a lot like Lance, helping people and stuff. It hurts me when one of you guys is down and there's nothing I can do about it." Chris said, his brown eyes meeting Joey's'. .

"Well," Joey said, smiling, "you did sorta make Lance feel better." .

"Oh, haha," Chris said flatly. .

"Seriously, I don't know what we'd do without you," Joey said, sincerely. "When we found you on the beach back there… I don't know what would have happened if J.C. and Lance couldn't have brought you back." .

The rest of the guys emerged from where they were listing to the conversation behind the trees. "Enough of this mushy stuff," Justin said as he playfully bowled into Chris, pushing him into the four foot deep river. .

They started laughing as Chris emerged, soaking wet. "Justin! Get your scrawny ass back here!" he yelled, as he took off, chasing the youngest member into the woods. .

"Lance, J.C., and Joey took off after the 'kids', laughing at their antics. They all chased Justin back out into the beach, and Chris was almost about to grab him when they went around some rocks and stopped dead in their tracks. .
~>~>~>~>~> pt.6.

There in front of them, stood five horses, two whites and three browns.

Chris and Justin stood in awe for a few seconds before the others ran up behind them.

"Where'd they come from?" Joey asked.

"I don't know," Chris said as he approached a white horse. It stood calmly and let Chris pet it.

The other guys each approached a horse and carefully pet them on the head. "There's got to be someone else on this island," Lance realized. "They're all wearing halters."

"So that means they're tame," Justin said as he got closer to his brown horse.

"You guys up for a ride?" Lance asked as he pushed himself up on his brown horse.

"Oh, I forgot we have a horse expert," Chris said, jumping on his white horse. Lance had his own horse, named Toby, and they were best friends.

The others all mounted their horses and took off at a gallop across the beach. The horses kicked up the sand as they ran, and once in a while, whinnied to each other. After a few minutes, the guys slowed the horses to a trot. Joey came up between the other guys and announced, "I'm hungry."

"Really? Could've fooled me," Chris teased.

"Hey, it is about noon," Joey said, squinting up at the sun.

"I think the horses are taking us back to their home," Lance said.

"How can you tell?" J.C. asked.

"I keep trying to turn off into the woods, and she keeps ignoring me," Lance explained.

Justin pulled to the right, only to have his horse shake his head and lean to the right. "I see what you mean," he said.

So they rode for ten more minutes before the horses finally turned into the woods.

The horses stopped at small stream and some of them took a drink. "Pit stop?" Chris asked, mostly to himself. The rest of the guys jumped down to get a drink also. J.C., Lance and Justin went upstream of the horses, and looked at each other when Joey took a drink from downstream.

"Should we tell him?" J.C. asked.

"Naw, let him go," Lance replied as they all watched Joey continue to scoop up the water that flowed past the horses mouths.

They laughed a little to themselves as they cupped the clean water in their hands and got drinks. When Justin was done, he started back to his horse when something caught his eye.

"Snake!" he yelled, causing Chris's horse to take a step back, steeping right in front of the four foot long black snake. Quick as lightning, the snake shot out, striking the horse above the hoof. The horse bucked in panic, throwing Chris against a tree and knocking him out. The horse half ran, half limped away, whinnying to the others, who were also panicked and backing away.

The guys scrambled to get out of the horse's way as chaos broke loose. Water and bodies flew as everyone panicked. The snake had been trampled and now lay dead on the ground. One of the brown horses landed on J.C.'s hand as it galloped off, followed by the others.

When the horses cleared, the guys were still stunned with shock. "I think my hands broken," J.C. said, painfully holding his limp hand.

Chris was coming to, and his memories immediately told him to scramble back before he realized the danger was gone.

"Good one, Justin," Joey groaned as he pulled himself out of some mud.

"Well, there was one," Justin blushed, looking at all the damage. .

Chris rubbed his head, felling a huge, sore knot beginning to form on the back of his head. "Is everyone one okay?"

"I think he really did break some fingers," Lance said, looking at J.C.'s hand.

"Okay, we've got to get some things to make splints," Chris said, closing his eyes. "Anyone got a pocket knife?"

"I do," Joey said, feeling his pockets. "Why?"

Getting no response, he asked, "Chris?"

"Hey, crazy," Justin tried.

Chris sat motionless against the tree as the four exchanged worried glances.
~>~>~>~> pt. 7

Joey ran to check Chris. "Come on, old man," Joey teased, shaking Chris gently.

"What?" Chris moaned, turning away from Joey and opening his eyes.

"We lost ya for a minute there," Joey said. "Just how hard did you hit your head?"

"It's nothing," Chris replied, turning his attention to J.C. "We gotta set his hand." Chris got up; clutching the tree as a wave of dizziness hit him. "We're gonna need some stick and vines," he announced as Joey handed him the pocketknife.

Chris walked off in search of some vines they could use. The others followed, picking up little three-inch sticks they could use. Every once in a while, Chris would bend down, cut a length of vine, and stand back up, swaying slightly with dizziness.

Once they had enough supplies, they headed back to their things. Justin, Lance and Joey headed back into the woods to look for things to eat. Chris took care of J.C.'s hand, placing the sticks along side his fingers and tying them in place with the vines.

Chris decided to gather firewood while they waited for the rest of the guys to return. Once he had gotten enough, he returned to the makeshift camp and relaxed with J.C. They each had taken some aspirin in hopes of relieving some of their pain.

J.C. noticed Chris could hardly keep his dilated eyes open and warned, "Chris, don't go to sleep yet, okay?"

"Why?" came the tired reply.

"Because I think you might have a concussion," J.C. replied.

"Why?" Chris asked again, his eyes still closed as he lay at the base of a tree.

"Because one, your pupils are dilated big time, and two, you can't stand up with out getting dizzy."

"Oh, yeah. Guess so," Chris mumbled, not moving. Suddenly, he sat up, reaching for his head a second, then ran for the trees.

J.C. closed his eyes as he heard Chris throwing up the two aspirin they took fifteen minutes ago. Then he realized their mistake; you can't take aspirin on an empty stomach.

A few minutes later, Chris returned and plopped down in his spot. "Well, that didn't work," he sighed as he lay back down. "This sucks," he added, closing his eyes again.

J.C. studied his friend and observed the sweating and slight trembling Chris was displaying. He was about to nudge Chris awake when Joey, Justin, and Lance returned. They had taken their shirts off and filled them with the fruits and veggies and nuts they found. "Dinner's here!" Justin said happily as he placed the food in front of J.C.

J.C. picked through all the berries, mushrooms, and nuts as Lance nodded towards Chris and asked, "What's wrong with him?"

"Nothing's wrong, I'm dying," Chris mumbled.

"He's not dying, he has a concussion and he's mad 'cuz I won't let him sleep," J.C. said, inspecting the mushrooms.

"Not to mention I feel like shit," Chris added, opening his eyes and slowly sitting up.

"Hey, join the crowd!" Joey smiled as he set down his food.

"Do you guys know the difference between harmless mushrooms and poisonous ones?" J.C. asked.

"No, but seein' how Joey didn't even know there was a difference and ate one," Justin started.

"And is still alive," Lance added.

"I'd say they're pretty safe," Justin finished.

J.C. considered it for a minute, then started laughing, making everyone else laugh too.

They joked and ate their full into the night. They successfully built a fire and had enough wood to last into the night. Joey was the first to nod off, followed by J.C., then Justin.

Chris and Lance were still joking around when Lance changed the subject. "Look, Chris, about earlier, I'm sorry I snapped at you. I was just a little up tight."

"It's okay, I know how it is. I just hope someone rescues us before the sci-fi channel has that MST3K marathon," Chris smiled.

Lance laughed before he lay down. "Goodnight, Chris."

"Night," Chris replied as he did the same. In no time, all five men were asleep.
~>~>~>~>~> pt. 8

The next morning they awoke to the sound of helicopters. They quickly woke each other up and ran out on the beach to be seen more easily.

As a helicopter appeared over head, the guys jumped and waved, flagging the chopper down. It landed about 100 feet off, blowing sand everywhere. Relieved, the group members ran towards the pilot.

"You guys need help?" the pilot asked.

"Please?" Joey asked as they all gave each other high five's.

"Get in," the pilot smiled. Then, to his radio he added, "I've got them!"
~~~~~~
As the helicopter lifted off and flew over the island, Lance looked out the window and smiled when he saw the horses running along the beach. The others had fell into a peaceful sleep, and Lance silently thanked God that they had not only survived, but became stronger friends.
Then, he closed his eyes and dreamt of home.
