SURVIVOR 3 CHALLENGES
REVEALED!
Masada shall never
fall again: Survivors will race to the top of Masada. There will be
several rest stations along the way where Survivor host, Jeff Probst, will
be asking Jewish trivia questions. Each group will be given a copy of the
“Bible”, “Everything you wanted to know about Judaism and were afraid to
ask,” “Exodus” by Leon Uris, and “Kosher Sex,” by Rabbi Shmuel Boteach,
to use as references. The team will only move forward when they answer the
question correctly. First one to the top, wins immunity. Any interference
with tourists visiting the site will result in instant disqualification
from the race. Winners will also be given the opportunity to bathe in the
springs in nearby Ein Gedi.
Shuk-down:
Not all of the challenges are physical in nature. In this event, contestants
will be set loose in Mahane Yehuda, an open air market in Jerusalem. They
will be given a list of food products and will be given a limited amount
of time to purchase these items for as cheap as possible. Micha Mizrahi,
a shuk vegetable store owner of over twenty years stated, “Bargaining in
Mahane Yehuda might prove to be the most challenging of quests. A lot of
it depends on the market and produce that day. I have seen tomatoes go for
2 shekel a kilo and I have seen them for 1.5 shekel a kilo. It’s all about
strategy. I can give these survivors one piece of advice. You come to me,
I give you good deal and we share the million dollars, yes?”
Essen n’ Fressen:
In the previous locations of Survivor the contestants were forced to eat
various delicacies that could be found in Malaysia and the Australian Outback.
These foods included brains, stomach lining, worms and more. Continuing
with this tradition the contestants will be eating several Israeli foods
in a competition format. Details are shady at this point as to what the
contest is but our source has informed us that the food items will include
Jerusalem Mixed Grill (a spiced mixture of chicken hearts, lung, liver and
kidneys), calf’s foot soup, something being referred to as “Grandma Sarah’s
cholent surprise” and shmaltz sandwiches. All foods will be under the strict
supervision of the Rabbinate of Jerusalem.
The Chosen:
Several weeks into the competition the survivors will be placed in the Presidential
Suite of the King David Hotel with a fully stocked bar, hot shower, DVD
player, stereo system, and Sony Playstation, seconds before the beginning
of Shabbat. The team that breaks Shabbat loses the challenge. This challenge
might initially seem easy but after several weeks without entertainment,
cleanliness and nourishment this can possibly present the most difficult
challenge of them all. Filming of Survivor 3 begins this summer and the
first episode will be broadcast in January, right after the Lubavitch telethon.
