Chapter 15

"I hope they didn't get stuck somewhere" Nick said. Yvette and Nick were running on the beach trying to beat the rain. They got to the boat, which was docked and went inside. "Wow! that was some workout!" Yvette said ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AJ felt as if his heart had stopped and had ripped in two. About 10 feet from Amaya, lying on the ground, was a branch from a tree. "It hit the tree..." he rationalized with himself. "She's okay... fine... in one piece" He repeated Then he saw her frozen with terror and ran towards her. He put his arms around her. "Calm down" he whispered in her ear. He could feel her heart going at a zillion miles per hour. "Breathe Amaya breathe" he said She pulled away and took his shades off. Then stared deeply into his chocolate eyes. "What?" She gave a little smile "That's the first time you call me Amaya" "She's right" he realized and was about to tell her that, but she just hugged him harder. He marveled at the feel of her body. Her head fit on his shoulder. Their bodies fit perfectly. It was almost as though her waist was made for his hands. After a few minutes, when he felt her heart slow down she took her shaky hand. "Let's get out of here" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Yvette and Nick were sitting on the deck of the boat waiting for AJ and Amaya to return. "I'm getting worried" Yvette said "Don't worry... AJ won't let anything happen to her" Nick responded rubbing her shoulders. After a few minutes she decided to drop hints. "I really admire them..." "Why?" Nick asked puzzled. "They're clearly in love and they're not afraid to show it" Just then Amaya and AJ walked up holding hands. They stopped just in front of the boat, unaware that Yvette and Nick were watching. AJ turned and faced Amaya. They joined hands. He leaned over and kissed her. Then he whispered something. The words were lost in the wind but Amaya understood. "I love you too" she whispered back. "Look at them!" Yvette said "They're sooo in love" She stood up and looked at Nick who was also standing up and had a weird look on his face. Nick walked up to Yvette and pulled her into the most passionate kiss either of them had ever experienced. "Wow" AJ said Yvette and Nick pulled apart. "That was something" Amaya said and then went into the boat followed by AJ Yvette looked at Nick and blushed. "Want to watch a movie?" Nick asked as he smiled. "Sure! What's on?" "One way to find out..." They walked inside and sat in the TV/living room. The boat had three areas: t/v dining room and living room, kitchen, and the rooms and bathroom. The dining room was a little round table and was connected to the kitchen. There were three rooms: the captain's quarters and bathroom and the other two rooms which had a connection to the same bathroom. Yvette and Nick decided on a movie and Yvette went to make popcorn while Nick went to invite AJ and Amaya. He went to Amaya's room but she wasn't there. The captain's wife hadn't seen her but AJ and Nick's room door was closed. He tapped softly knowing that maybe AJ didn't want to be disturbed. "Come in" Nick opened the door and saw AJ sitting on the bed, his back against the wall. Amaya was sitting next to him, her head rested on his chest, and she had one hand on his chest possessively and was sleeping peacefully while AJ toyed with her hair. They weren't wearing the wet clothes that they had been wearing before, but Amaya had borrowed a pair of boxers, and a shirt. "We're gonna watch a movie. Just wanted to tell you in case you wanted to see it" Nick whispered. "What are you watching?" "Pearl Harbor" AJ looked down at Amaya. "I think we'll pass" he said and kissed Amaya's forehead as Nick left the room. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- "That was an awesome movie!" Yvette said "Really?" Nick asked "cause you didn't see most of it" The movie had ended but Yvette and Nick hadn't seen it. They spent the whole three hours making out in the sofa. "That's why it's so good" Yvette replied smiling. Nick and Yvette stayed talking for a while and then Nick said. "It's getting late... we should go to sleep" "Yeah... I'm kinda tired.." Yvette said "Completely, fully, extensively tired?" Nick asked smiling at her. "Well, a little bit" Yvette said They stayed talking for a while more when Nick realized that Yvette was sleeping on him. He put his arm around her and kissed her. He put her head on his shoulder and he tried to sleep. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The next morning after a lot of persuading from AJ they decided to go to a place called The Baths. It's a beach with really big volcanic rocks in Virgin Gorda. "It's awesome" Amaya said " It's a big tourist place, and you can get lost in the rocks. There's one really high one, and you can jump from it. Only, there's about 5 feet of water under it, so you have to jump when the wave comes in" she said while making her beach bag. About half an hour later they got there and threw everything in the dinghy and went to the beach. "They are big" Nick said talking about the huge rocks in front of him. "Yup" Amaya replied "Are we gonna climb them?" Yvette asked "That's why we brought shoes" Amaya replied "Should we sight see or go jump?" AJ asked "Maybe we should look around first" Yvette said A while later… "Can we go jump now?" AJ asked "Sure" Amaya said AJ Nick and Yvette thought that Amaya was exaggerating about the rock, but it was big. "And just how do we get up?" Yve asked Amaya grinned mischievously. "Gimme a hand AJ" she said She walked into the water and AJ helped her up into a rock that was close to the other one. She climbed up and was soon on the top of a very big one. "Um, guys?" she shouted "Yeah?" they answered. "You're in the middle" she said They moved back a couple of feet and watched as Amaya counted the waves. "I hope she knows what she's doing" Nick said "Me too" AJ said Then Amaya jumped just as the wave was passing the rock. Between the splash and bubbles, they lost track of Amaya. "Uh oh" Yvette said after a few minutes. "Where is she?" AJ said, now alarmed "Looking for me?" Amaya said from behind them. They turned around. Yvette was surprised. Nick was happy at the joke. AJ just let out a sigh. "Don't you ever do that again" he said putting his arms around her. She looked at him with puppy eyes and a pout. "Sorry?" "Apology accepted" he said hugging her. "I'm jumping next" Nick declared "But no pranks" Amaya said mock scolding him. "Fine mommy" he replied in a childish voice. Nick went up the rock and was followed by AJ. "Don't push me" Nick said "I won't" AJ replied They looked at each other for a few seconds. "Still don't trust you"' Nick said laughing "Fine" AJ said smiling "I'll go first" AJ stood on the edge and counted the rhythm of the waves. Then he jumped. "That was awesome" he said when he came up. "Help me up" Yvette asked "Sure" AJ replied AJ helped Yvette up and took her to where Nick was. Then he went back down. "Sure you want to do this?" Nick asked Yve She nodded yes with a little fear. Nick kissed her. She stood on the edge and told Amaya to count for her. "Oh... God. .. should I be doing this?" she thought "1..." Amaya called "Sure... no biggie" a voice replied in her head "2..." Amaya called "Oh... hell... I have voices in my head" "3!" Amaya shouted "I'm crazy..." Yvette thought as she felt her feet leave the rock. "Shouldn't I be facing the water?" The last thing she saw was the blue sky.
