"Wow" AJ said after two hours of dancing. "I guess it's true what they say about women..." "What do they say?" Amaya asked him AJ and Amaya had been dancing all night. It was a good party but they hadn't put on any salsa or merengue, which was her favorite. It had been strictly ballads and swing. "Women are adrenaline and bone mixed together" "Really? " Amaya exclaimed "Do you think so?" "Well... normally I tire people out but you're tiring me out". He said "Just a little bit" Amaya grinned mischievously. "Wanna go get a drink?" "Ahhh... am I tiring you out?" he said teasing her. "Don't push your luck, boy!" They went and sat in a table near the dance floor, which was also close to the bar. Amaya was facing the bar. AJ motioned over one of the waiters and ordered. "What do you want?" AJ asked "Diet coke with lemon" "One diet coke with lemon for the lady and I'll have a drunk Christine" "Excuse me sir?" the waiter said "What's the drink?" "You don't know? Omigod!" He turned to Maya "gotta go teach these uncultured people" Then he stood up and walked over to the bar, with the waiter following him. Amaya followed him with her gaze. "Oh god" she thought She could see him even if she closed her eyes. Everything about him was imprinted in her brain. And that could mean one thing. She groaned. She had fallen in love. "Amaya Burgley?" a voice asked right behind her. She turned around and saw Jason Rusich and old high school friend. "What's a girl of your magnitude doing sitting alone at great party?" "Oh" she blushed " I'm not alone" she glanced over at the bar... "Alex went get our drinks". Just as she said that AJ came back with her coke in one hand and his drink in the other one. Jason had pulled up another chair and sat down. "Alex, this is Jason, Jason, Alex" she said introducing them. "Ohh" Jason said realizing who Amaya's date was. AJ laughed. Jason AJ and Amaya talked for a while. "May I have this dance?" Jason said, standing up just as a fast merengue came on "Umm..." she looked at AJ then at Jason "Sure!" Amaya put her hand in Jason's and he twirled her. AJ was sitting slumped in his chair. "Oh… got burned" Nick said coming over and sitting down. Yvette was right beside him. AJ just grunted. He watched as Jason and Amaya danced and the intricate twirls. He watched Jason's hand on Amaya's back and her short dress as it swirled around her legs exposing much more than just her calves. "Yikes!" Yvette said "can he dance!" AJ slumped more. A circle had formed around the couple. When the song ended they looked around surprised and bowed. Amaya was smiling. They walked back to the table and pulled two chairs up. "Wow" Amaya said, a little breathless. AJ was still frowning. Only now frowning at Amaya. Amaya raised one eyebrow. "Someone's jealous?" she whispered in AJ's ear. "Not really" he whispered back "just pissed off" "Why?" "Cause I can dance too..." Amaya looked surprised. Another fast merengue song came on. Amaya stood up, she motioned AJ to come with her finger. They walked over to the dance floor and some of the people were surprised to see Amaya back. AJ and her started dancing even showier and fancier than Jason did. It was intricate twirl after swirl after twirl. Everyone at the party was gaping. "Yikes!" Yvette said Everyone nodded silently in agreement. They continued dancing until the end of the song. "Where did you learn?" Amaya asked AJ. "Well, Fatima loves merengue. She taught me" (I'm not sure how accurate that is) "She taught you well" They walked back to the table to find Nick and Yvette staring at them. Jason had left. "How come you never told me you danced?" Nick asked "You didn't ask" AJ replied "How come you never told me you danced?" Yvette asked "I didn't know" Amaya replied, grinning ---------------------------------------------------------------------- After two hours of dancing they went to the house... It was 3 o'clock in the morning and they were all sitting in the living room. Kevin and Carla were hand in hand and Carla was resting on Kev's chest. Krystel and Brian were also holding hands making funny faces at Yvette and Nick. Maya and AJ were sleeping peacefully on the couch and Alexandra and Howie since they were an item already, were making out. "Awww... look at them" Krystel said referring to AJ and Maya. "Hmmm... Amaya seems to be constantly falling asleep" Nick said. "Wonder if she uses her bed at all" Brian said with a little laugh "Yeah" Yvette said "Guys, don't be mean" Carla said "All I'm saying is the truth" Brian defended himself "I heard that!" AJ said opening his eyes. Everyone looked closely at Amaya wondering if she was really asleep. "Yes she is" he said answering everyone's questions "and for your information we're just friends... for now! A few minutes later Amaya woke up and listened to what they were saying. "Hey Frack!" Brian said "Yeah?" "Truth or dare?" "Truth" Nick said taking the safe option. "How was your first kiss with Yve?" "Why do you want me to explain that?" "Because you chose truth and we want to tease you until the end of time!" "Fine-" "Without details Nick!" Yvette interrupted "Don't worry sweetie, well..." Nick started hesitating "we were in Yvette's room and she was sad because I heard that she said she liked me... and I comforted her and..." "Enough!" Yvette said blushing "We wanna hear more!" Brian said "You don't deserve it!" Yvette answered "Guys, stop fighting" Amaya said "Yvette... truth or dare?" "Me? Why me?" Yvette asked "Because you are the one next to her doufus" Nick said "Fine, Fine... I'll take..." she hesitated "truth...." "Cool... We wanted to ask you this since last Tuesday... What were you doing that day when AJ and you disappeared? We were very very VERY worried about you two... and of course you didn't tell us the truth..." Everyone nodded in agreement. "Well... um... well..." she flustered "AJ! tell them!" "What?! Me??" "Yeah you!!!" "Um... ok... um...We were...." Nick and Amaya were looking at them with an I-would-like-to-kill-them- look. "Well, Yvette and I were..." "... at the new mall... like, we both like to shop..." she finished. "What the hell?!?" Amaya was pissed " you go to the mall and you don't leave a friggin message???" (A/N - frigging = my slang. Means freaking. Freaking = my slang means... you know what it means) "Well... the thing is" he looked at Amaya "I brought Yvette along because I needed her advice... cause I'm a guy and I don't know anything about what girls like" "I noticed" Amaya thought. "And I don't know anything about you, or what you do for fun or what you like... and I needed her advice to give you this" he babbled. AJ reached in his pocket and revealed a little jewelry box. Amaya was overwhelmed by his sparkling brown eyes filled with love. "Oh my god!" she thought "am I gonna accept that? decline? I'm crazy if I say no... look at him, he's sweet, caring, responsible, handsome, funny, sexy and hot!" Maya took the box from him and opened it. Inside was a delicate silver chain with an angel charm. "Are you ok?" he asked noticing the tears in her eyes. "... this is so nice of you... you've known me for just a week... and you give me this?" "I care about you, ever since the first day and there will always be a special place for you in my heart" "Oh AJ you're sooooo sweet!!!" Brian said in a high falsetto voice. "Shut up!!!" Amaya said wiping the tears from her eyes. She stood up and went to the kitchen to wash her face. AJ followed her. "Ohh! I knew it! the were acting strange at the premiere!!..." Nick said "Should we go spy on them?" Yvette asked "I wanna see what happens" Nick said grabbing Yve's hand. The two of them went to the kitchen door and opened it in a crack. "... I love you too..." Maya said "Look.. they are going to kiss..." Nick whispered as she saw AJ leaning to give Amaya a kiss... When they pulled apart... "40 seconds! How could you breathe?" Nick said with a grin on his face. "Why don't you shut up and leave us alone?" AJ said a little breathless. "Nope... we can be here for as long as we want..." Nick said "Yeah" Yve said "There's nothing left to do!" AJ whispered to Amaya. "Except to give them what they want..." Amaya replied. "Oh well!" he said as he leaned and kissed Amaya. "Will you cut it off?" Nick asked "No!" AJ mumbled and Amaya smiled. "I'm gonna make them suffer" Nick whispered to Yvette. "What do you guys say to a competition?" Nick asked "Whatever" AJ said "Okay... let's have a kissing contest... longest time wins" Nick said "On the count of three..." AJ said "1..." Yvette said "2..." Amaya said Before they said three they started kissing. Only 5 seconds later Carla entered the kitchen. "Um... guys?" They didn't answer... They were busy making out in the kitchen. "Guys?" Carla shouted Yvette and Nick pulled apart to answer Carla. "Nevermind" Nick said They explained to Carla and a while later Amaya and AJ were still going at it. Finally Amaya and AJ pulled apart. "We won" Amaya whispered to AJ "We're gonna play some more" Carla said The five went back to the living room and they played for a couple more minutes and they everyone fell asleep in the living room. It was 7:30 am. Everyone slept downstairs where they were sitting after the Truth or Dare. "Holy Shit! It's 7:30 in the morning! The guys were supposed to be at the airport!!!" Nick shouted. With this Yvette woke up. "Why the hell are you screaming like that?" Yvette said "Because the guys have a plane to catch!" Nick said "Holy Shit!" They started waking up the different people when all of them finally woke up. "I'm tired" Krystel said "Sweetheart... we have to pack now... or have you changed your mind?" Brian asked "Never" Krystel said as she gave Brian a sweet kiss. "Well... are we going to pack or not?" Kevin said "Yes!" Brian, Krystel, Howie, Alexandra and Carla answered in unison. The guys went upstairs to pack their things while Maya, AJ Nick and Yve were making breakfast. "I don't know how to make fried eggs" Nick whined. "Well... now you have an opportunity to learn..." Yve said smiling at him She gave one of the eggs to Nick and taught him how to do it... He learned but after 5 minutes the kitchen was a mess because of Nick and AJ. "Look what you've done!" Maya said "What?" AJ said "Look... go with Nick and set the table before I make you two clean all this mess!" Maya said "Ok mommy!" AJ said smiling and running to set the table with Nick. It was 8 am and the guys were eating Amaya's pankcakes, but ignoring Nick's eggs "Come on!" Kev said "Let's go!" Brian said They ran out of the door and they took 2 cars to the airport: The rented car and Carla's Ford Runner. It was 9:30 when they reached the airport and the flight was leaving at 10 am. When they finally got to the gate… "Well... This is it..." Bri said "Bye Frick... Hope to see ya... someday" Nick said "Shut up Frack" Brian replied As the two best friends said their good-byes Yvette was crying because of the girls departure. "Don't cry Yve" Krystel said as she hugged her. "You'll have good company" Alexandra said "Yeah... very good company" Carla added "I know... I'm sorry guys... you know me..." Yve said "Come here girl" Carla said as she pulled Yve for a hug. Two minutes later the 5 girls were crying. "Just take care of my lil sis" said Carla to Amaya "I will... don't worry... I'll ground her if it's necessary" Maya said "You have fun..." AJ said to Howie. "Yeah I will" Howie said as he grabbed Alexandra's hand. After all the good-byes the guys pulled each girl for a hug and then they all hugged together. "Have fun guys!" Nick said "Thank you... you too!" Brian replied "Bye!" Nick replied They guys were heading to the gate as their motioned goodbye with their hands. Yvette, Nick Maya and AJ stood there until they were not seen. "Come on... let's go home" Maya said "Yeah." Yvette said with watery eyes. "Hey, baby don't cry..." Nick said as he pulled Yve for a hug. "I'm ok now" Yve smiled. "Where are we going to go now?" AJ asked "Home" Maya replied "But I had a surprise for you..." "What surprise?" Nick eyes popped open " You didn't tell me about any surprise" "Well... I didn't tell anyone of the surprise, because it's a surprise" he said, explaining as if Nick was a 5 year old. "What is it AJ?" Maya asked "Well, what I had in mind, is the sun surf and sand. And a charter to the Virgin Islands" AJ said "That'll be great!" Maya said "Yah but Nick and Yve can't go... it's just you and me" AJ said mischievously. Nick and Yvette were staring at him in disbelief. "I didn't have anything to do with it..." Amaya said innocently. "I was just kidding... you can come too" AJ said "Oh Maya... why did you hook up with him?" Yvette said AJ gave Yve one of his killer glares and Nick laughed. "And why did you hook up with THIS?" Amaya said pointing at Nick. "Hey, I didn't say anything!" Nick whined "I hooked up with him because he is hotter than AJ" Yve said "Look... girl... you hooked up with him because you saw that Carla, Alexandra, Krystel, and I were in love and Nick was the one left out… no wonder" Maya said "Girls! You don't have to fight!" Nick said "...and over us?" AJ added "Shut up!" Yve and Maya said in unison. "Fighting is healthy" Maya said sticking her tongue out to AJ. "Look... what we have to do is dump those THINGS, and fall in love with JC or Lance from 'N Sync. You take JC and I take Lance..." Yve said "That sounds like a good idea..." Maya said, totally mock agreeing They started walking towards the exit leaving AJ and Nick alone. "Not so fast little girl..." AJ said as he grabbed Amaya's arm. "Do I know you?" Amaya said "Well... I don't know if you know me but I'm very sure that you know this" AJ said as he pulled Amaya for a passionate kiss in front of the airport full of strangers. "Guys! Cut it out! everyone's staring at you..." Nick interrupted "I don't care!" AJ whispered as Maya pulled apart. "Let's go... I don't like PDA's" Amaya said With this they left the airport and drove to the house... Nick was driving the rented car and AJ was driving Carla's Ford Runner. They returned to the house and packed their things to go to the charter. Amaya called her parents and they said it was ok Yvette called her parents too and they let her go. They took the rented car. AJ was driving and Amaya was at the front seat with him. Yvette and Nick were in the backseat. "I hope we have a good time" Yve said "What are you saying? We're definitely going to have a good time" Maya said " I hope so" Yve answered. "What happened? Did you change your mind about going?" Nick said "No, not at all... it's just a weird feeling here" Yve said as she touched her heart. "A weird feeling?" AJ asked "Good or bad?" Amaya asked "I don't know" Yvette answered as she closed her eyes. They drove over to Puerto Del Rey (a marina) where a huge boat was waiting. On the deck was a man about 50 with a hat and a lady that looked like his wife. They did introductions and the captain told them they could make it to Tortola in 5 hours so they set out and exactly 5 hours later they were in Tortola doing customs. Then they went to a beautiful beach called Cane Garden where the whole beach front is little restaurants, pubs and beach clubs. It's a very relaxed atmosphere, kind of go-to-dinner-barefoot. They decided to do their own thing. Yvette and Nick were walking on the beach while Amaya and AJ went walking around the small town. "bd git back!" a black man said to them. "What?" AJ asked not understanding his accent. "Why?" Amaya obviously understood. "Bg storm coming" the man said Amaya looked up. The sky was clear and in a very beautiful shade of blue. "Okay... we'll be careful" Amaya said dismissing the man as crazy. They continued walking around and ended up in an old cemetery. They walked along until they reached a willow tree with a tombstone under its leaves. Amaya read it. 1980 - 1989 Jonathan Reid. A wonderful son and brother. Dejavu hit Amaya like a tidal wave. Her big brother had died when he was young. He had died in 1989 and his name was also Jonathan. "Gimme a few minutes?" Amaya asked AJ. "Sure" AJ said and walked a couple of steps backward to give her privacy. Amaya kneeled in front of the tomb and said a little player, silent. "Man, she's beautiful..." he thought. He didn't like to see her in pain. A couple of minutes later the sun disappeared and a cloud came over the island. "Maya!" he called nervous. She didn't hear. The wind was blowing strong. "Maya!" he shouted walking towards her while she walked towards him. Then it started to rain. AJ started running. Suddenly there was a nearby flash of light and a thunder.
