The next morning, Rachel woke up feeling better than ever. Reaching to her right side, she started stroking Nick's blond hair. She felt his strong arms encircle her waist and she found him cuddled up behind her. She smiled to herself remembering everything that happened the night before. She had made love with her husband and for the first time, ever since she knew him after the accident, she didn't regret anything she did. That night, her parents were not an issue; nobody was an issue for her. The only issue that she really minded was the fact that her husband was next to her, loving her like he said he did, without even considering the fact that she didn't remember anything about her past life. Rachel looked over to see Nick sleeping peacefully. She closed her eyes and leaned back on the bed again enjoying each and every moment of her brand new life. After a few seconds, she felt Nick's hand on her cheek.
"Morning" Nick whispered with a smile.
"Hey" Rachel grinned, reaching over and giving him a peck on the lips.
"Had a good night?"
"Great night"
"Okay" he grinned getting out of bed.
"Where are you going?" Rachel asked with a confused look.
"Shower" he answered simply.
"Kay" she said, getting out of bed and running to the bathroom, closing the door behind her.
"Hey!" he whined, pounding on the door.
"Sorry baby" she replied from inside, laughing.
"Well then, I'm going to go to the other bathroom, brush my teeth and look for the kids"
"Okay, where are they though?"
"Mom's house"
"Alrighty, I'll see you then in a while" she said, as Nick put some clothes on and headed out the door.
After taking her shower, Rachel started preparing breakfast. Then she heard a knock on the door. She thought it was Nick so she didn't answer the door since he had the key. A few seconds later there was the loud pound on the door again.
"Maybe he left the key" she thought to herself and went to the door.
When she opened, there was a girl standing there.
"Hi" Rachel said, politely.
"Hey, Is Nick here?"
"No, he went to look for our kids in his mother's house"
"Do you mind if I wait for him?"
"No, not at all..." Rachel said. "What's your name?"
"Patricia" the girl said. "Don't you remember me?"
"No, actually no" Rachel replied, going to the kitchen to pour some orange juice to some glasses.
Patricia waited until Rachel was in the kitchen and smiled. "This is not going to be hard at all" she whispered a little later as she went to the kitchen to keep her company.
Rachel smiled at Patricia and kept doing her respective things in the kitchen.
"So..." Patricia started. "How's Nick?"
Rachel grinned widely as thoughts of last night came to her mind. "He's great"
"That's good... I came here to talk to him about some things that we have present" she smiled.
Rachel was really curious about this stuff. "What things?"
"Things I prefer to talk with him alone" she said flatly.
Rachel nodded her head. "Ohhhkay"
"Honey, we're home" Nick greeted, opening the door, letting Colin in first and carrying Alyssa.
"Momma!" Colin said, extending his arms towards her.
"Hey baby! You had fun at grandma's?" Rachel cooed.
"Yup, momma who's her?" he said, referring at Patricia.
"Oh, this is someone who wants to talk to daddy"
"My name's Patricia, thank you" she said, narrowing his eyes towards her. She then remembered what she had in store and shook her head. "I'm sorry Rach... you know, I'm PMSing" she smiled.
"Okay... no problem" she answered as she looked at Colin. "Where's your daddy?"
"With Alyssa" Colin replied still looking at Patricia.
"Tell him that Patricia is here to see him"
"Okay" he agreed as he ran up the stairs and to Alyssa's room.
"Daddy, Patricia is here" Colin said as Nick's eyes widened.
"W-what?"
"Patricia is here" he repeated.
"Colin... are, are you sure?" Nick stuttered.
"Yup, mommy's talking to her"
Nick shook his head in denial. "No, it can't be" he whispered. He shook his head again. "Colin, stay here with Alyssa"
"Alrighty daddy"
As he went downstairs, Nick kept thinking to himself. "She cannot be here... s-she's... she's dead" he reasoned. When he got to the kitchen, he stopped dead in his tracks. "This can't be happening" he thought.
"Hi Nickolas" he heard Patricia say with a big smile, turning around in the process.
Nick couldn't believe his eyes. His mouth was slightly open as he looked at her. She changed so much. She was thinner now and her long blond hair was now short and black.
"W-what are you doing here?" he managed to say.
"I'm here to talk to you about some unfinished business"
"U-unfinished business?"
"Yup, can we go somewhere where we can be alone?" Nick nodded. "Sure, come on".
Patricia started walking out of the house and into the porch but before Nick would go and follow her, he went towards Rachel who was standing there with a confused look.
"Hey baby" he said, giving her a kiss and stroking her hair.
"Hey... I made breakfast. Do you want to invite your friend to stay here and have breakfast with us?"
"N-no" he stammered. "This is not going to take long." he finished, giving her one last kiss and joining Patricia in the porch.
"What are you doing here?" he whispered so that no one could here. "You were dead"
"You were wrong" she said with a smile.
"But, the police- everyone told me that you were dead"
"They were wrong... I was in rehabilitation all this time... that's why my hair is like this and I'm thinner... I couldn't move or talk for a long time Nick... and it's all your damn fault"
Nick shook his head. "It-it was an accident"
Patricia laughed. "An accident... was throwing me out of the second floor of a building an accident???" she yelled.
"Shh... keep it down" Nick begged.
"Well, then answer me"
"It was an accident... I didn't throw you though"
"Well, who was it... your cute friend AJ?"
"He didn’t throw you. You fell… anyway, everything was screwed up that day"
"Yeah... and because everything was screwed up, I had to be in rehab for almost two years right???"
"Patricia, keep it down please... my wife's inside with my kids... I restarted my life. I don't need this right now"
"You were married to her when we met, and had that affair" she said, her eyes narrowing.
"It was for a short time... I didn't love you. I never did. I loved and I still love my wife… and you knew that damn well before we had what we had"
"Well, you're going to pay now for everything you did"
"It was an accident Patricia... I DIDN'T even get close to you that day"
"But AJ did" she finished.
"Patricia, you know that AJ didn't throw you... you lost your balance and broke that window and fell"
"Oh no... you got it all wrong Nicky... since you were my boyfriend at the time, you wanted to break up with me and you came to my house. Then, we started this big fight and you pushed me to the window, and I fell" she smiled.
Nick shook his head. "No... that's not true"
"I can make that story the truth. It's your word against mine" she smiled again, looking deep into his blue eyes.
"You're not going to get away with this" he said, his eyes narrowing at hers.
"We'll see"
"Patricia, listen to me... we can work this out" he said, running his hands through his hair.
"The only thing that will make this work out is a large amount of money for two, or your wife and kids will know who's the real Nick Carter"
"For two?"
"I had your baby Nick"
"WHAT?!?" he practically screamed.
"My baby's yours... I had a baby who is now two years old"
"It's not mine"
"Either you support us, or your wife is going to know everything we've been talking about"
"Know everything about what?" Rachel said, opening the door and stepping to the porch.
"I have a baby with your husband" Patricia said simply, standing up and leaving the house.
