2-3 weeks later...

I stand at Brian's door, I seriously need his help and advice on the situation between me and Natalie. I ring the doorbell

Into the washer it goes... Score! Man.. I guy can still be a guy even while doing chores... Too bad I can't just hit the lid and the button with a ball and not have to do a thing.. like that one dude in the commercial. now that would be awesome. As I put the last bit of clothes in, the doorbell rings. I opened the door and Frack was standing there looking like he needed something.. wonder what it could be now...

"Hey Frick...How's it going?"

"Pretty good.. and what's up with you?"

"Nothing much...I thought I'd stop by and hang with you for a while"

"Ok... You wanna go out back and play some ball, play some PS2 or catch a football game?

"Let me kick your ass at some b ball"

Laughing, "Rrright... my name isn’t B-ROK for nothing"

"Yeah well get ready to lose all rights to that nickname"

"Right.. You just keep thinking like that. It's on now..." throwing him the ball

I grin at him and within moments I get the ball through the hoop

"Starter's luck.. Now its my turn" taking the ball back and going around to land a 2 pointer

"Yeah yeah whatever" I tease and then I miss an easy shot

“You were saying…” laughing

"So how does it feel to be dating a 21 year old again?"

Missing my shot completely, thanks to him. His question caught me way off guard.

"Oh shut up. I know there is an age gap, but this time, I don't care. This girl.. .she's different. I feel a real connection with her. I've never felt that with anyone else"

"Hey man, it was a serious question. It's good that you connected with her. How are things going with her?"

"Good. She's amazing. A bit of a partier but then again she's still young. But I really think this will last, unlike my other relationships. But then we haven't breached the topic of our touring and all that jazz"

"Speaking of relationships, can i ask your advice on something?"

" You asking me for advice on relationships? wow, that is a turn around"

"Yeah...You've been seeing charlie for a few weeks now so she must be into you.Did you ever think that she wasn't interested in you?"

"Well at first, things were gong a little slow and at times I thought that.. and that she thought that I was a total idiot. But then we overcame our nervousness and began talking more and it just kinda went from there. When we were up on the lighthouse, it was just right.. and when I kissed her is when I felt that feeling... the connection.. that she was the one for me.

"Ok... I went out with Natalie a couple of weeks ago and I think we had a really good time. There was one mishap but we got over it and at the end of night we shared an amazing kiss and I wanna see her and go out with her again but she doesn't seem that interested"

"What gave you that impression? Did she say anything?"

"I asked her if she wanted to go sailing with me and she asked for a raincheck and then I called her up a couple of days later and invited her to a movie and turned me down for that too. How am I gonna get to know her better if she keeps rejecting me? I've been out with lots of girls before and they've never rejected me"

"Wow.. for once you're not getting exactly what you want for a change.. How does that make you feel?"

"Well that was cheap shot but FYI I really like Natalie"

"Well that's great and all but.. have you ever thought that maybe she might have some baggage that you didn't know about?

"Wow I never really thought of it like that. Hopefully she'll agree to see me again once she's got some free time cause I know she wants to spend as much time as she can with Charlie because she goes back to California"

"When is she going back? Not soon I hope. She never mentioned it. And I totally forgot she was only visiting. I hope that we can still work this out after she goes back .."

"You didn't know? She starts back at university in three weeks time"

"Are you serious? wow... well I guess I've got some work to do"

"Dude maybe you should just let it go. Long distance relationships don't usually work out"

"I know, I know... but this has to work. and I am not giving up that easily"

"Well good luck with it, I hope it can work out. I'm gonna go and call Natalie to talk to her"
