I get in from college a little later than usual. I had to stop by the library to get some books out, then I gave a friend a lift home. I set my books down on the floor and call out to Natalie.

"Hey, I'm home"

"Hey, how was your day?" I call from the kitchen, as I looked up from my laptop

"Challenging. Think I actually need to spend more studying, than having a social life" I say with a sigh. I enter the kitchen and glance at her with a smile. "How about your day?" I ask grabbing two glasses from the cupboard and filling them with orange juice. I set one next to Natalie

Looking up, I smile at her. "Did that just occur to you?" letting out a giggle. "It's okay to have a social life, but its the education that you're there for. Just remember that, ok? Plus, my day was pretty hectic as well. I've been up to my knees in work today and I'm still working." sighing

"Ok, remind me when we let our lives get taken over by work, college and all the other crap that comes with growing up?" I say dramatically

Laughing at her sarcasm, I closed my laptop and headed over to the freezer. "I guess that fateful day we graduated. Isn't it awful?"

"Yeah, I seem to remember us making a pact that when we graduated we'd go traveling across the world, meet interesting people, gorgeous guys and party" I tell her with a smile. "So.." I continue "We've got the interesting people and the party thing going on" I count on my fingers, "We just need to go traveling and meet some gorgeous guys" I add with a sly smile

"Yeah, right. When are we going to have time to do that? Not anytime soon. Maybe, this fall we can go somewhere. I've met a few, but I wouldn't mind meeting more.." I say with a smile. "Do you know where you would want to go, if we could?"

"Somewhere different from here and Cali. Somewhere amazing, peaceful, beautiful. Somewhere that takes your breath away" I start to daydream. "What about you?"

"Oh, I don't know. Some place different and exciting. I kind of want some sort of adventure. Something to remember. Yet, still have that beautiful serenity that just wraps around you."

"Then, let's do it, once I've finished uni. To have that sense of freedom, it'll be so great. We could get one of those part year travel packages"

"Alright, we'll do it. Oh my gosh, I can't wait. Just think of all the possible places we could go.." my mind drifting off

"Speaking of going places" I start giving her a sly smile " I didn't hear you get in last night. Did you have fun?"

"Yeah, it was great. He took me out to Christini's and then we went and took a midnight stroll on the beach." thinking back on it. "I wish I was back there.."

"Oh wow, it sounds so romantic. He's totally into you" I gush

"Sometimes, I'm not so sure. Like the other day when he came over, he seemed so distant. He acted like he didn't want to see me and rushed off with some pathetic excuse. But then yesterday, he was all sweet and romantic. So, I'm wondering if he was just having a bad day like I originally thought. "

"That doesn't sound like Nick. Normally, he can't stop talking about you and how wonderful you are. But then again, he is blond and very badly organized. He seemed ok, when i saw him the other night at Brian's. It was only brief and he didn't stay long, but I was doing college work, so I didn't get to speak to him much"

"Well, I'm not thinking much into it. We all have our bad days, like that one I've had today. I hope to be finished by 8 or 9. Would you want to kick back and watch a movie?"

"Well, I'm supposed to go over to Brian's, but to be honest, I'm tired and I have some work to do. So, I'll stay in and get that done and then we can kickback"

"Ok, sounds great. Hopefully, Brian won't be too disappointed. Oh, and there is some take out on the counter, if you're hungry."

"No, he'll understand trust me. I better go give him a call and tell him though"
