"All...done! See that wasn't so bad, now was it?" the doctor asked Nick.
"Not as bad as filling out all that damn paper work." Nick muttered, referring to the forms he'd had to fill out before they could give him stitches.
As soon as he could, Nick got out of there. 'I hope she's still waiting for me' Nick thought as he ran out to the parking lot. He stopped short when he saw her, and let out a sigh of relief.
"I was so afraid you'd left!" he told Sky.
"Would I really do that to you?" she grinned.
"I guess not."
Once again there was a long pause before either of them spoke again. Finally, Nick got up enough courage to say, "There's something about me and you...something weird that's--"
"Indescribable," Sky finished for him. "Something so great, so powerful that it's scary but exciting all the same."
"Exactly."
"Something made me come over to you before...Something inside of me was like 'Go! Go over to that girl, NOW.' It was this incredible feeling, like I knew you... Like I'd known you forever. Just like, like, we're connected!"
"Yes," Sky agreed, "Connected."
And somewhere, someone watched Sky and Nick and said, "And all goes according to plan..."

"Have they met yet?" a small squeaky voice from a dark corner of the room asked.
"Of course they've met, you fool. They met hours ago!"
"I'm sorry, master" the owner of the squeaky voice got down on his knees and bent his head, begging forgiveness.
"You should be," his master replied, a self satisfied smirk on his face.
The master looked into the mist once more, and watched the two humans talking. Though he couldn't make out what they were saying, he knew that they were starting to realize the impact they had on each other. He watched as the female human pinched herself, and he watched both her and the male human flinch.
"Good, good simple humans. Maybep you aren't quite as dumb as I thought... Ha! Who am I kidding! Of course, you are extremely unintelligent! Look at them. Look at them trying to figure out what is going on, when it is so incredibly obvious. Can you believe this?" he turned to the owner of the small squeaky voice.
"No," the voice said promptly, "I can't believe this."
"Well," the master smirked again, "believe it."
