Chapter Ten

Two days later, Elizabeth and Brian were staying on Nick’s private island. Not many people knew about the island. It was located just off the coast. It was small and beautiful. They had a big tent set up on the beach.

Elizabeth was happy. Her face was almost completely healed and she was all alone with Brian. She stood on the shoreline looking at the sunset. Brian came up behind her and slipped his arms around her waist. She laid her head against his chest.

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?”

“Not half as beautiful as you,” Brian told her.

She turned around in his arms and looked up at him. “You are so sweet.” She smiled and then kissed his lips.

Brian kissed her back. Then he picked her up and gently tossed her in the water. Elizabeth sat up, shocked. That was the last thing she expected Brian to do. “Oh, you are so gonna pay for that!”

Elizabeth got up and started to chase Brian around the beach. She finally caught him and jumped on him. He toppled to the ground and pulled her down on top of him. “You got me wet, Lizzie,” Brian said with a goofy grin on his face.

Elizabeth giggled. “Too bad.” He pulled her down and kissed her. “Was that my punishment?” she asked.

“Was it that bad?” Brian asked, kind of hurt.

“No, Bri, it wasn’t. I was just joking.”

“You better be,” he said, smiling.

“I was,” Elizabeth said.

“Good,” Brian said, kissing her again.

Jenny walked to Alex’s house quickly. She was worried something was wrong. He was supposed to be at her house a half-hour ago. He was never late. Jenny turned the corner onto the street Alex lived on. She could see his house and his car was in the driveway.Alex was sitting on the front porch with a girl.

The girl looked older than Jenny, but younger than Alex, maybe eighteen. She had bleached blonde hair that came down passed her shoulders and brown eyes. She was dressed in a tight red tank top and a short black skirt. She was hanging all over Alex, which was something Jenny didn’t like at all.

That chick looks like a slut, Jenny thought as she walked up the driveway.

Alex jumped up when he saw Jenny. “Hey, baby,” he said, kissing her.

“Hi…Why didn’t you come pick me up?” Jenny asked.

“I couldn’t get away. I am so sorry, baby.”

“Who’s that little girl, Alex?” the blonde girl asked from behind Alex.

“Don’t even start with me, blondie,” Jenny said angrily. She really didn’t like this girl.

“This is my girlfriend Jenny Wright. Jenny, this is Heather Campbell,” Alex said.

Heather put her arm around Alex’s neck. “You didn’t tell me you had a girlfriend, baby.” Jenny shot her a look that could kill. Heather smiled cruelly at Jenny.

Alex shrugged Heather’s arm off. “I did, too. I guess you weren’t bright enough to comprehend.” Heather got on his nerves. She was always hanging all over him and she wouldn’t go away.

Heather didn’t realize Alex insulted her. She was having fun making Jenny mad. “Why would you want that little girl when you could have a real woman like me?” Heather said into Alex’s ear, loudly enough for Jenny to hear. It was taking all of Jenny’s self-control not to deck Heather. She had never been so mad in her life.

Alex was mad now. “I have a real woman.” He put his arms around Jenny and kissed her deeply. He pulled away from Jenny and looked at Heather. “I think you better go now, Heather.”

Heather just stood there, obviously mad about what she had just had to witness. Alex went inside his house and Jenny went to follow. Heather grabbed Jenny’s arm as she walked by. “This isn’t over yet, little girl. I will make Alex mine. Just you wait,” Heather said and then let go of Jenny’s arm. She gave Jenny a smirk and walked away.
