Once she had gotten the news to me and Hollis, we all started screaming. Hollis started crying out of pure joy. I suddenly stopped screaming and thought about the good news. Suddenly, it didn't seem so great anymore.
Then an even worse thought came to my mind. If JC was interested, which he probably wasn't, I still had a boyfriend and I couldn't do anything about it. The only thing I could do was call him, but that was the last thing that I wanted to do. I decided to wait until JC came and then see what happens.
The next hour went by so slow. Hallie and Hollis were trying to make themselves look good, but I didn't really care. I didn't want to do anything to change the way I was because if he didn't like the way I was, then that's his problem. I was never going to change for a guy, no matter how sweet or hot he was.
Once an hour had gone by, the door suddenly flew open. Emily ran through the door and grabbed me out of their room. She told Hallie and Hollis that we'd be in our room, and that we would have them come over when they showed up. We shut the door and went straight into her dorm. My heart began racing as she sat me on her bed and started explaining what Justin had told her.
"Ok, he told me he had been following you because JC wouldn't stop talking about you. When they followed you to Applebee's, Justin saw me. So then Justin wanted to get to know me so he came over to the tour place just to talk to me and the rest is history." she explained.
"I can't believe this Em! It's so great, but one little problem. I still have a boyfriend, remember?" I said starting to whine.
"Oh my god! I totally forgot! Well, just play it cool tonight and call Jeremy tonight and explain. That way you don't have to see his face over the phone."
"And then I won't chicken out! Ok, I'll do it tonight!" I screeched. "Now, when's my JC supposed to be here?" Just then we heard a knock on the door and my heart began to race. I was nervous even though I have already met him, it's like meeting him for the first time.
Emily walked over to the door and to her surprise there stood two girls. None other than Hallie and Hollis. They bombarded her with questions, like were they here yet and when were they coming. Emily just invited them in and told them to wait. I was totally bummed because I was expecting them to come back as soon as I sat back down on my bed there was another knock on the door and I heard a high laugh. I tried to fix my hair a little bit at the last second because I knew it was them. Who else could be coming to our room?
" Room service!" I heard a guy shout from outside the door. Emily ran with excitement but then paused before she got straight at the door. Then she calmly finished her walk and opened it with a surprise of Justin holding a rose. Emily was greatly flattered as he lent it out for her to take and she accepted with a grand smile on her face that reached ear to ear.
JC acted as if in a rush and pushed Justin to the side as he entered into the small dorm room. He looked to the left to see two girls sitting on a bed. They looked as if in shock but he didn't recognize them. As he looked to the right I sat there looking innocent. He came over and sat next to me and my mind went blank.
" Hi again, I'm hoping that you remember me?" he asked with a hopeful voice.
" Of course she remembers you, that's all she's been talking about lately," Emily interrupted. I gave her a rude stare and my eyes went wide. She tried to ignore me as she sniffed her rose and took Justin arm and brought him out into the hallway where she saw standing Lance, Chris, and Joey.
" Guys, this is Emily. Deanna, JC, and two other girls that are staring are in the room," Justin said pointing his thumb behind him. " It's going to be too stuffy in there so we are going to take a walk." He grabbed her hand and waved good bye as the elevator doors closed.
"You know, you guys can come in if you want? You don't have to stand in the hall the whole time." I told Joey, Chris, and Lance. They walked in slowly. I whispered to Hallie that she should take the three of them to their place. She nodded and told Hollis. They then pushed them out of the room and took them to their room across the hall.
"Well, now that they're gone, can we talk?" I questioned him. I was dying to know why he followed me. But with every thought, the picture of Jeremy sat in my head. I tried to push the thought away, but it wasn't working. I couldn't even concentrate on looking at his perfect face without Jeremy's face getting in the way. I had to get him out of the picture. I had to do it tonight.
"Well, what would you like to talk about?" he asked.
"I uh...just uh..wanted to know......."
" Yes?" he asked becoming impatient with my studdering.
"Why you were following me." I finally spit out. My heart started racing again as I waited for a reply.
"You see, that day at the mall, I saw you before you saw me. You thought it was your fault but I purposely put you in my way. I didn't know how else to talk to you. You were the most gorgeous thing I had ever seen and I had to at least give it a try. You looked like the type that didn't know who I was either, so you wouldn't freak out when you looked at me. I just followed you home and watched where you went. I even sat in on your graduation. Or at least part of it. I kinda got driven out by screaming girls. But hey, I tried." he explained to me.
I didn't know what to say. It was the sweetest thing a guy had ever said to me in my life. I was speechless. Even all my thoughts of Jeremy melted away for the minute he was talking. His voice interrupted my thoughts.
"Well, are you going to say anything?" he questioned. "What are you thinking?"
"Well, I don't know what to say." I managed to squeak out of my mouth. I had literally met the guy of my dreams and I had a boyfriend.
