As the time passed, each couple became closer and learned more about each other. They spent time together like a normal couple would, except disguising themselves in the public eye. Emily continued with her tours and Justin joined with her, sometimes directing the group of kids himself knowing all the lines. JC helped Deanna around the campus, carrying her chubby body everywhere with her hands swung around his shoulders or neck. Their relationship seemed like a big joke because Deanna is sarcastic and out going and on the other hand, JC is serious and laid back. Opposites attract and their liking for each other is well proof. Chris and Hollis have been off with themselves, always wanting to be apart from the group. It was like they owned their little world together, excluding us from all presence once in awhile. They were in this big daze in one another eyes, feeding each other ice cream as the old 50's music played in the juke box in he corner.( ha ha!) It was cute to watch but it gets out of hand.
In the mists of it all, the seven of the others have been curious about Lance and Hallie's friendship, wondering if it was expanding into more of a romance. Only the two of them knew the real truth that they couldn't take the aching pain of their hearts having dents in them because the ones that they admirer across the room has someone else's arm around them. Wanting to be close and brush their fingers through their crushes hair, laughing at a joke that only the two of them understood, enjoying a candlelit dinner and a walk in the moonlight. Only dreams were in their minds and hope in their eyes that everything will work out in the end. Lance and Hallie kept meeting secretly to discuss and create the ultimate plan so they can have what they wanted, and in their minds, deserved.
Then alone sat Joey that didn't have one to wake up and think about every morning until he falls asleep at night. Everything in his mind was all mixed up like a bag of Chex Mix. One day he had a feeling of loneliness because he want a companion, or else a good friend to talk to. All the other guys have been busy with their girls, or making new friends that no one ever had time for him and he didn't bother interrupt any of their plans by inviting himself along. Either night or day, he hung out at a club, dancing but never committed to anything. Nothing seemed right.
With Deanna and JC – Deanna POV
"I can't wait until I get these damn casts off. They really bug me and they itch and ughhhhhh. I want it off," I whined to JC, or was it to myself, as we sat in Emily's dorm room.
I scratched at the signed cast with each *N Sync's members autograph on there. There have been numerous teenage girls, or even older than I that have asked me how I got them. I just answer with a simple 'luck'. Emily left around an hour ago and she didn't tell me any information on where she was heading out to. The only good guess I had was Justin's hotel room which would be about a 99% chance. Good, I though to myself, she won't be home for a while.
I rambled around, making the bed move and squeak as I tried to reach down to my ankles and to my back but it was impossible. Within my movements I kept pouting and mumbling about how bad I hated this and that JC would get his revenge, but he just laughed at me. This is one time that I wasn't laughing, just scrambling about. I could see him try to grab for my hands, stopping me from moving, crossing his arms in front of my body. Finally, he managed to get me to grab my hands and placed them in his as he stared into my brown eyes. I shut up for a second but looking into those deep blue eyes, as beautiful as the nail polish on my toes, I had to complain some more but with a smile.
"And this stupid color. Who picks out an icky white for a cas...." I continued before JC cut me off with a soft kiss.
I gladly excepted it as I wrapped my arms around his neck, careful not to knock him out with the cast. When we pulled away, I just sat there with a smile on my face without a word coming from my rapidly moving lips. After about a minute or so I couldn't stand the silence and I just had the urge as I started whining again. "And why does it have to be so hard. I could kill someone with this thing!!" JC started laughing hysterically as his laugh stretch from ear to ear with the shake of his head. I decided to play innocent as I looked at him confusingly. "What?? I'm dead serious! These things bite major ass."
"Nothing can make you happy, just stop complaining for once. They'll be off in another four weeks. That is only a month away. Wow....." he stated trying not to laugh at me.
I gave him a little shove in the corner of his shoulder. His reflexes are fast for as I lightly tapped him with my open hand he grabbed it and folded his fingers into the palm of my hand. His head was turned as I gave him one of those 'what are you doing' looks with a half smile. He gently pulled me down on the bed letting me rest against his soft though strong stomach. He gave me a soft kiss as we both closed our eyes. Then as we pulled apart with the soft sound of the lips unlatching, my hair that I spent an hour straightening slipped out from behind my ears and bounced onto his chest. I moved myself slightly over so that I was lying half on the bed and leaning half on his body. I placed my broken arm on his stomach so it was able to rest there as he cocked his head to look at me. I could tell by his actions that he was surprised that I haven't said a word yet. He wrapped his arm around me and I nestled my head on his arm as he brought me closer to him. We just laid there in each others arms for what seemed like an eternity.
With Emily and Justin – Justin's hotel room -- Emily's point of view
With the sound of screams and yells, Justin and I were laying on the bed watching The Leprechaun on one of those channels that you have to pay for the movie. Every time someone got hurt or killed I buried my head in Justin's chest and scrunched up the covers by pushing them down, uncovering my freezing body with the tense of the fright. He just held me tight with one arm wrapped around me, keeping the blanket around my shoulder while with the other stroking my hair. I kept taking peeks even though by the sound of the victims in the movie and the deadly music I had to take a look.
" Oh, dat's a goner!" Justin shouted, warning me with his eyes glued to the television though always making sure that I was okay.
By the end of the movie, I had rattled out of the excitement and had fallen asleep on Justin's smooth, shaved chest that was sneaking out from his open plaid shirt and low hung wife beater. Slowly, each snore came out as a little whistle, humming to the tune of Tearin' Up My Heart. Justin rocked her in his arms as the light breezes from the open balcony window brought a shiver into the room. He listened the weirdly made music, staying awake as the credits continued to run down the screen with a last message saying " This is charged to your room, thank you".
