" Dad, can you hurry? Stephanie is coming in an hour and I need to take a shower!" I yelled through the door hoping that he would hear me.
" Just a second honey, I'm kinda busy!" he squawked.
I grabbed a towel from the closet and sat against the wall and waited patiently.
A half an hour had pass and I got tired of waiting and nothing changed. I marched up to my room, stomping on the ground making it shake. I searched in my closet for something to wear and pulled out some worn out jeans and an orange American Eagle T-shirt. I skipped down the stairs to find Stephanie waiting in the car in the drive way. I took my purse from the chair and slammed the door shut. I hopped into the back seat because Jeremy sat in the passenger seat. " Hey," he turned around and greeted me.
" Hi," I said blushing as I turned to put my seat belt on.
" So where do you guys wanna go?" Stephanie asked in the middle of all the silence.
" Uh.... try the Yorktown mall," I stated.
She stuck the key in the ignition and we were on our way.
Once we arrived at the mall, we headed right for our favorite store, American Eagle Outfitters. After spending forever in the store, we made our way to the rest of the mall. We shopped for hours and surprisingly Jeremy did not put up a fuss. He acted comfortable towards me and I tried the same. I decided to take a stop at the food court but I told the two to keep going.
While I was there being the klutz that I am, I accidentally knocked into a guy who had a tray of Chinese food in his hands. I bent down on my knees to help him clean it up.
" I am so sorry, I didn't watch where I was going," I pleaded for forgiveness.
" It's okay, really," I heard a sexy voice say. I looked at him but his head was down and concentrated on the mess. I waited 'til his head rose and instantly our eyes were locked. I was in a daze as I looked into his deep blue eyes. I scanned his body and I saw his six-pack between the buttons of his shirt.
"Hello? Hello? Are you there?" he said as he snapped a finger in front of my face. I shook my head once and concentrated on what he was saying.
"Yea, I'm here! By the way I'm Deanna," I said as I started cleaning the mess up.
"I'm Josh, but all my friends call me JC." We finally got the mess cleaned up.
"Well, I got to go. I'm supposed to be with my friends right now."
"Yea, me too. Nice meeting you, Deanna."
"You too, 'JC'." That had to be the most gorgeous guy I had ever seen in my life, I thought to myself. I walked back to the mall and met up with Stephanie and Jeremy. I took one look at them and got sick to my stomach. They were in a full lip-lock. I turned around and started walking quickly to the exit. Stephanie saw me and instantly started running after me. She called my name but I ignored her as I ran while my bags flew back and forth. I could hear her footsteps inching towards me because I am not the bet of runners. I stopped right as I approached the door because I figured that I didn't have a ride home. She ran up to me and placed her hand on my shoulder but I shrugged her off.
" Let me explain," she begged. I turned around with a furious look on my face holding my anger back as tears brimmed my eyes. She must have saw because her face was full of hurt as I lowered my head to the ground. A tear ran down my cheek and I would watch it fall on to my shoe.
" What is there to explain?" I said in a low toned voice. My hair hung around covering my face and I placed it behind my ears.
" I thought you said that there was nothing between you two? You have no reason to be angry at me." I felt like a bullet was striking through my heart as those words hit my ears. I looked up at here brown eyes and she just stared while I stood there crying. If she was a friend she would be understanding and not have a guy come between our friendship.
" I don't wanna talk about this right now, can we just head home?" I said sternly as I pointed my bag out the door in the direction of the car.
" Yeah, let me just go get-," she paused there as I gave her a glare. " I'll be right back."
